Well, most of the stuff they showed wasn't aimed at you. It was aimed at the family and casual markets that have yet to get a PS3. Only Socom and LBP really showed a glimpse about how the tech could be implemented in games we enjoy more.

Maybe now we can get Harmonix to step away from music games for a bit and develop Antigrav 2. Although, a new Frequency or Amplitude with the motion control would be interesting.

I'm still not convinced. Why? Because its the exact same thing as the Wiimote and its again, 3D way to control something flat on a screen. I still find it ridiculous to use yourself as a toy to interact with a game on a TV.

Why only white people get to play with it?

I hate SONY and MS for getting into this genre of pure shittiness. None of those games look appealing well maybe they might have if they have not come out on the Wii already.

After reading/watching everything, I've decided that I just don't really care about this yet. 'Yet' is the key word here. I'm thinking Sony has a lot more to offer than party games and mini-fests. I mean, they have to. Don't they? They can't just show prettier versions of Wii games that have been out for years. Right? Guys?

I'm pretty sure that the people calling this crap(myself included) aren't the people that Sony's trying to target with this.

Probably, but the PS3 hasn't reached that mass market yet. Most of the rabid PS2 fanbase that would eat this up either hasn't switched yet or moved to the Wii. So who, exactly, out of the MGS4-FFXIII-Heavy-Rain crowd does Sony expect to buy this?

maybe they're trying to win back the crowd that went over to the wii from ps2...i could see myself getting it for my wife, who doesn't game but is somewhat intersted in the wii and kid who will be old enough for gaming in a couple years...it would be cheaper and more space efficient than getting a whole new console

vidGuy, you just made me think of how good Heavy Rain could have been for this. They should have made Heavy Rain a launch game with Move. It would stand so far out above all the other mini games and appealed to a much different crowd.

The ironic thing is I only care about using it to play FPS games on PS3 finally. I think I'd prefer this way to even a 360 controller. I never did like the Dualshock for FPS games.

Hell, forcing the competition to either secede due to irrelevance or follow in its own footsteps was Nintendo's entire business disruption strategy with the Wii in the first place anyways. It'd be pretty stupid of them to sue now.

my main concern? the games will be segregated.....

there are numerous configurations

1 Move stick

1 Move stick + DS3

1 Move stick + 1 substick

2 Move sticks

are the games all going to be set to use all of those configurations?

my guess would be no...

Well first

Move stick + DS3 = Move stick Plus Substick

All games will be made to use only the Move stick everything else is optional it

wow SONY just stuck it to Nintendo & Micro$oft big time just talking about how persise their motion control set-up is. Now all those third party games on the Wii that get no love can try there luck on the PS3 ( just think Wii games like DeadSpace, those RE shooters, can find now be on the ps3 ...... in hd) & M$ gonna really impress gamer use to holding controllers that controller-less gaming is going to work (makes me wonder how long Zipper had Socom 4 in the bag). Motion controls seems to be the next battle ground Can't wait to see what they ALL show off at E3 and later as the TGS.

WOW! I can't believe I watched that crap. And the name? "MOVE". Really? "Arc" was so much cooler. This and "Natal" are really bad peripherals. If they were console introductions they would have a chance. So maybe PS4 and XBOX "3" will give them a chance. However you won't find me jumping up and down waving my arms and legs in front the TV anytime soon.

Nintendo only had 2 analog sticks on the game cube, ps and xbox have had 2 since forever. And Nintendo finds it flattering that everyone is following them. Also wouldn't want nintendo having a monopoly it's just bad for business.

Just another thought. How much damage will this guy deal to that brand new 52" Bravia HD TV? We know the PS3 slim deals massive damage

The name isn't the best but it really is interesting to see where this will take future games .... Have to agree Heavy Rain would of been a great game to launch this controller with.

I'm hoping Sony pack the Move and subcontroller with Socom as well as other games. I would love to see Fight Night using the Move.

But the one thing that gets me is the PRICING will the Move come with a SubController or will Sony be like Nintendo and sell everything by itself ( I REALLY HOPE NOT). Also paring the PS3 can only pair 7 things over bluetooth so how is this going to work out with the Move. Will the Move and Substick count as one device (the substick is paired to the Move and then the Move w/substick is paired to the PS3)? or is there a cable to connect the two like the Wii and nuchuck?

I can't wait to see how this is all going to workout, i'm already interested but pricing may become a factor .... price too high and nobody will be interested, and if nobody gets it then games supporting it wont take off.

so basically the Move controller is an example of what the Wii would be like if it had hi-definition and no tethered controllers...and we can basically expect to see almost every game made for the Wii by a 3rd party to make their shovel-ware for the PS3 as well as the Wii.

except for the fact you don't see the guy in his living room tryin with much anger annd frustration while violently moving his arm in a repetitive motion, to get the character on the screen to respond to one punch.... I'm just sayin. A videogame using a frickin controller for motion control (@ this current point in time) CANNOT duplicate the movements and actions of the actual body for it solely depends on your handle on the controller, the controller's responsiveness to your movements etc. etc. Natal looks to be the only TRUE motion control to be coming out in the not too distant future.

Not Sure if you were listening to any of the tech sections of how PSM (That's going to suck as an Acronym) works but it uses a camera just like Natal with the exception that Natal works on infrared like the Wii does and Sony uses the visible spectrum.
So first of all it "solely" relying on the controller is wrong. Second having visual images roughly translated is pretty well known and ships with nearly every webcam on the market. Using infrared is a lot more accurate when correct but much trickier to do. The technology has been around for about 12-15 years but only works in fairly controlled environments. So as it stands Natal may be the best motion controller when it comes out or by far the flakiest
. No one knows yet but watch the video of the Motion fighter again. It's not a bad representation of his motions esp the leaning and blocking. I'm much more worried at how hard he was breathing after 4 minutes of playing the game. A 20 minute Boss fight might up hospital visit rates.
At least with Natal and Move Gamers might stop complaining that games are not 40 hours long every time one is announced :-)

I really think all of those crappy third party shovelware games on Wii are going to make a pilgrimage over to PS3. Those games are mostly all still billed as kid or family games and Nintendo is till seen as the family system. And that's before you take into account the much more important fact that the Wii has a much bigger hold on the market. If you're going to release a title that you don't expect to sell well in the first place, are you going to do to try to help it do better? Put it on the system that going to require people to get a new peripheral to play the game? Or put it on the system that's got more market saturation with over twice as many units sold? Not that it really matters because they're all shit and none of us are going to buy them anyway regardless of what system they're on.

Also, I think you're overstating the public's opinion of Natal so far.

1. controller seems extremely non-ergonomical. 2. WTF is that bulb looking thing on the top? I didn't know I was playing with a kids toy. 3. The titles look weak. The only one even worth while showing is LBP, and if this is the only representation of what this control scheme has to offer then we're simply just getting a better (HD) version of the Wii. Not looking forward to Sony's future moves in the gaming industry. Whilst on the other hand (i own both PS3 nd 360) project natal seems to provide much more potential (not to mention they're not biting off another companies' design) than that of this so-called "MOVE-ment"
