The second Deus Ex was one of the most disappointing sequels I ever played. I hope this third game will be more like the original.

King Hippo here has got it right, download and play and beat the first Deus Ex, it is by far one of the most amazing games I've ever played. If the graphics are a little too rough for your eyes, there are graphics upgrade mods that players have created to help make it a little easier to look at.
On topic however, I almost crapped myself when the guy pulled out that blade on his arm. Also, is it just me or would a Deus Ex MMO be completely awesome? the series has such an amazing story that it would be great to have all of the lore points fleshed out in a much larger game. Or maybe it would just be nice to have a deus ex that can't be finished in just 13 hours.

The 2nd one is one of the worst sequels of all time, if there was an award for worst sequel Im sure it would win. It wasnt that bad of a game but it was several leagues below the original which is one of the best games ever made.
It is THE game that causes people to tremble in fear when a PC game gets moved to consoles. It was probably the first game to dumb things down and kill the soul of what made the original so good, they had some braindead idea that console users cant handle deep games.

Eh has it right. IW is not a terrible game taken on it's own merits. There are some very bad decisions in the design, but for me it's somewhere between completelly average and good. However, as a followup to the original, it fails in every way - worse characters, worse gameplay, less freedom, worse story, worse atmosphere, etc. so yes, it is an OK game, but a terrible sequel.

I'm actually playing through the first one right now (for the nth time). I was cleaning my room over the weekend and came across the disk. I'm now about 5 hours in, and it's still amazing.

Oh, and here's something new in this playthrough:
SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER!!!
On the plane (before Hong Kong) I found out that you can kill Anna before she caps the other dude. I'm not sure how it'll play out now that the other guy is alive for the rest of the game, but he did explain some things to me after I killed her. (I've now played through letting her live, killing her after she kills him, and this.)

REMBRANDT REFERENCE. WIN.
I wasn't sure about another Deus Ex sans Warren Specter... but this looks incredible.

The first is probably my favorite game of all-time. I've played through it at least 10 times now throughout the years, Never beat the second, but liked it for the most part.
I would love it if they would just re-make the first one with updated graphics/engine etc. Maybe add a bit into it. That would be an instant buy.

To be honest, while the 2nd was ok, it is utter trash when compared to the original.

It's based on Human Revolution, and you want to be rewarded for non-violent situations? LOL

i played the original, but not the second. this video is nothing more than a render, but from what I can see, it looks like the dogs at Eidos finally got their heads out of their asses! Looks like a pretty good story line from what I can tell, human revolution..hope this game involves plenty of cop killing =D

I really hope the upgrade system from the first game comes back. Plus if they add a bit of a morality/karma system to the game like KoTOR or Fallout this could be on track to be an amazing triple-A title. Plus the Icarus reference in the beginning of the trailer definitely foreshadows some fly too high/great fall idea that may present itself in the game.

Icarus was the name of an AI from the first game.

Must be a prequel considering they were trying to make augs less visible.

We have grown but there is still much to be done.
Many live in the darkness that must be shown the way.
For it is the dawning of a new day.

If you haven't heard the intro theme to the 1st one in a long time, here you go, orchestral version :)

I've got to say, I'm an even bigger fan of the Invisible War version. About the only area in which Invisible War excels over Deus Ex, in the music department, IMO.

So yeah, yet another CGI teaser that doesn't have a Deus Ex feel much at all. I really wish Warren never gave control out of his hands after the first one. Since it seems no matter how good the games might turn out to be, it's never really a Deus Ex in more than the name.
From everything I've read and seen so far from this game it really feels more like a "what if company Y did a take on franchise X", but without the need to adhere to any guidelines from the franchise creator at all.

Not saying smoking is necessarily a character flaw either, but clearly this man is deeply troubled and rough around the edges. Yeah, people REALLY want to be that guy, naturally they'll be running in droves to the petrol station to pick up a carton or two when they see HIM smoking.

OMG, that was amazing. I really hope they port this over to a console, so I don't have to upgrade my PC... but having said that, this game might be enough motivation for me to upgrade...
Damn that looked good. And I'm not refering to the CG graphics, I'm thinking of just the setup, the atmosphere, the character designs, everything.
