"I'm the voice of Guitar Hero 6," says KISS front man Gene Simmons during a video clip produced by Game On, a division of UK media site ITN. And that's all he says. The clip -- view it after the break -- has been removed from the context of what's assumed to be a full interview and essentially turns Simmons' statement into a gag line. Still, Simmons does appear to be the first "official" spokesperson to outright name the next iteration of Guitar Hero, albeit unofficially.
Activision previously dated a forthcoming Guitar Hero game for the "back half" of 2010. Presumably, that's "Guitar Hero 6" and the game Simmons will apparently star in. What? Activision didn't offer his crew a full-on Guitar Hero: KISS game? It's for the better, really, because all we want to do is get the digitized Simmons onstage and make him crank 'dat Soulja Boy!
Ugh. Kiss associates themselves with Guitar Hero and the whole Joystiq community forgets their awesomeness. If you don't get Kiss, you don't get Rock and Roll, and have no business commenting on games based on the genre. If he had said there was going to be KISS: Rock Band it would be mostly positive comments. Man...people are sheep.

I think KISS would make one of the best stand-alone Guitar Hero or Rockband games ever. Putting the actual music aside, their entire career practically cries out to be a video game. From all the different eras of costumes, stage set-ups and member changes... i'm surprised it hasn't already happened.

Im not even a KISS fan but I respect them as a classic band who did good things for the genre.
I'm already >$1k deep (serioously!) into said Rock Band franchise, so news like this warms my heart and makes me feel even better about sticking with HMX.

Guitar Hero is failure. Rock Band owns it. I would buy a KISS game because KISS is awesome. Even though I don't think the idea of Green Day Rock Band was good... Rock Band is still better.
