Rock Band Weekly Redux: Lady Gaga, Cartman, 3 Doors Down, Mute Math, The Subways

Lady Gaga was already announced for Rock Band's DLC update next week -- but she's bringing friends along. The pop sensation will be joined by some, ahem, actual rock bands.

I wasn't expecting other Bands next week. Rock band needs a subscription option. That way I can play more DLC with friends. There is just to much we all don't own these days. Maybe RB3 will introduce a subscription based model.

Someone explain to me how IT figures into ROCK Band. Better off putting that garbage on M&M/JayZs game. One is based on rock and 'instruments' the other...turn table/computer generated noise.

Im relaxed as can be. I just think it's stupid is all to put that in Rock Band.

I fail to see your argument here.
all the tracks still have a beat (drums), some sort of bass line (bass), and maybe a lead or synth part (guitar).
Most of that can easily be recreated with regular instruments.

Rock Band doesn't discriminate. Regardless I'll be buying it.

I don't know why you're being downvoted, you're right. All this positive vibe for Gaga is really making me sad for humanity.

What you fail to see is that someway or another all music genres tend to influence one another. Take country music and rap for instance, while almost completely different in sound, the two genres tend to focus on the same topics in what your average person may not consider a classical vocal style. Both focus on cars, women, getting screwed over, etc... You may not see her music as "rock", but in some shape or form it is a derivation of it. As long as they song can be mapped to the instruments in a way that is enjoyable to the people who choose to download them, I don't understand your argument. I don't see the point in complaining about the addition of music to a music game, especially when you're not forced to purchase it, let alone play it. Be happy that Rock Band delivers users a variety of content. Someone may feel the same way about the music you enjoy.

Ahh, you're just one of those guys you takes something like this too seriously then.

I like all types of music but I admit, mostly rock. Ill give in and say whatever about it since its Rock Band and not Guitar Hero though I still think they should draw the line somewhere. To throw her in this is saying that since there are vocals and "music" it should be allowed in Rock Band. Im not saying the it has to be the Rockest of rock music but other than the vocals there is no "band". Its all computer generated music.

And as you can tell, im pretty much anti-GaGa. One, I think she has talent in there somewhere but its hard to look past the need to go out of her way to look like a freak. She makes me think of what Marylin Manson's sister would look like if he had one. And while I think she has talent, I think her music is horrible and annoying. And I dont understand the attraction to her unless youre a teenager who just doesnt know better. Again all my opinion.

#1: She does not look like a freak #2: What she looks like has no relation to her music #3: If you don't like her music in Rock Band, don't buy it #4: Don't make fun of transgender people. They're people too and deserve respect. Or should I say, we are people too...

Actually for me that's my biggest problem with most other pop stars today. For too many of them its all about the image and the money. They get other people to write their songs for them and put so much effort into their looks and fashion.

I don't much care for Gaga's music either, but at least she actually writes it.

Someone, explain, how Lady GaGa is better suited on ROCK BAND, and game about instruments and the playing there-of, and not DJ HERO.

I will say this about Harmonix, they are some funny people putting Cartman's version of Poker Face right next to the original. I'll wager money that his version does better then Lady SucksAssA's version.

I think it's mainly because of that South Park parody.
