In a video answering fan questions, Splinter Cell Conviction Creative Director Maxime Béland revealed the existence of a demo for the highly anticipated sneaking-guy game. "Yes, there will be one. I can't tell you what map or when it's going to be released yet. My lips are sealed." Warning us in advance of the demo's release date would run counter to the whole 'stealth' theme, we suppose.
We first heard of a demo for Conviction from an Ubi employee known only as "Adam," and before that had only a guess that there would be one based on the common-sense fact that it's a really popular game. Splinter Cell: Conviction is currently due for release April 13.
Great, this is just what I need. I'm a hardcore Splinter Cell fan, but I'm still not 100 percent sold on some of the gameplay changes, the videos and previews haven't got me convinced. This demo should hopefully convince me to pick it up.
I'm the exact opposite. I bought all the Splinter Cells on the Xbox 1 because they were 3 for £10. I didn't like them at all, and the I got the demo for DA twice - The second time was to confirm that I didn't like it and I wasn't missing out on a good game. This one looks a lot more like the kind of game I like. Lots of stealth but coupled with great action bits.
I'm with you there. I'm pretty sure i am getting it. Game looks great and i have loved all of them but i'm a little pissed that there is no Spy vs. Merc multiplayer.
I really do wish they would let you do that - would be nice to just have the PS3 startup on it's own, download a demo I really want, then shut off until I get a chance to get on myself. Would be so sweet - a signal of the coming robot apocalypse, but sweet nonetheless.
out of curiosity, where'd you hear that this game is 7-8 hrs long? i've been following the coverage on this pretty closely and this is my first time hearing that.
I wouldnt play the demo because that's deducting at least 30min from the game by me experiencing it already. Sounds strange but I want those whole 8 hours to be fresh.
That is what I came here to ask. I have the other Splinter Cell games, but will not buy this game if it has the same restraints of Ubi's other games.
Some of my favorite games I play to this day are from the early 2000's. I would be willing to place some serious money on the fact that this games servers will not be up for ten years. There is NO way I'm buying a game I can't play for my life, not when the game company says they don't feel like supporting it anymore.
Hey Joystiq! I'm trying really hard not to buy any games right now, so I'd appreciate it if you stop tempting me with news of new, awesome games and their demos.
Don't worry "whyteguyz", Ubisoft put in a special mode, just for people like you. It's called "Pussy Mode" and instead of shooting people, you go around passing out sunflowers and hugs to your enemies all while skipping to the beat of children's nursery rhymes.
Did you really need to make a new account to say this, Wiizer? Are you mad that your boyfriend (pictured in your avatar) has different tastes than you?
I hope they release a demo for PC and 360 (almost a certainty, I know). I'd love to see how it plays on both and make up my mind ahead of time, which doesn't happen often enough.
Sure, the PC version will destroy the console one, but if the controls are too convoluted to allow me to have fun, hunter-pecker that I am, I will just get the sit-my-ass-on-the-couch edition.
