Like some of the best loyalty quests in Mass Effect 2, "Kasumi's Stolen Memory" is an inventive sub-story that steps away from all the galactic peril just long enough to explore the motives and traits of a newly recruited squad mate. The downloadable add-on introduces Kasumi, a cocky human thief in search of data relating to a former partner (in crime?), and sees Shepard accompanying her on an important and incredibly dangerous two-person mission. You know, a date.
Donning a sleek bit of evening wear and a false identity, Shepard accompanies Kasumi to an exclusive party -- the kind that requires either a shiny invitation or a shady conscience. While the commander mingles, a cloaked Kasumi keeps an eye out for the hidden art vault that she believes holds her partner's grey box. What they eventually find encroaches upon spoiler territory (that's especially sensitive given the 90-minute length of the mission), but unsurprisingly triggers one of Mass Effect 2's intense combat sequences.
In addition to the new "Locust" SMG, you'll gain the offensive abilities of a rogue. When commanded, Kasumi can sneak up unseen on enemies and deliver a crippling backstab with her omnitool. Her loyalty power, which is unlocked at the completion of the mission and can be transferred to Shepard, enables the use of flash grenades. Enemies in the mansion can also use those on you, so look out ... and away.
The grand heist inserts an interesting premise into Mass Effect 2, and players that hope to replay the game (or are midway through it by the time this DLC launches on April 6th) stand to benefit the most from a brand new character. Just like the mercenary Zaeed, Kasumi occupies a spot on the Normandy and can be relied upon during any of the game's missions.
The cost of Kasumi's Stolen Memory has yet to be announced, as the developer claims internal discussions on the matter are still underway. We imagine the last thing BioWare wants to do is introduce a thief and leave players feeling robbed.

so just for clarification, is she a 'special' Quarian or Human?

nevermind, this wiki: http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Kasumi stated she's Human. They also stated that the price is 560 Microsoft points, which i don't trust because the price still unannounced. Nonetheless, she has a resemblance of an unmasked Quarian (which would be pretty cool) although i didn't see her hands clearly so i could not tell at first glance what her race is.

how can you tell she looks like an unmasked quarian when quarians are never unmasked?

@The Dark Wayne
-the hood she's wearing
-her figure
-her armor reminds me of Tali's and the other female quarians
-her eyes are glowing, if you look closely at a Quarian's masked face, you'll see their eyes have a faint glow

while most of the things you said are true, her eyes arent glowing, they're just reflecting the light and it looks more pronounced because her face is obscured by shadow. But still, other than having a hood and wearing a suit, you have no idea if she looks like a quarian or not

Seeing as how you can get Tali to have sex with you at that point in Mass Effect 2 (Sorry, th game still refuses to show you her face..), I believe the answer to whether she's Quarian or not would have more to do with the color of her skin than her outfit. Since Humans are the only species I've seen with that skin color AND facial structure, the answer is definite.
The lip marking, though, does have me quite intrigued. I've never seen it on a human before that I can recall. Only on Asari.

I just hope she's different from Zaeed in that she actually has the same level of interaction as all the other squadmates instead of just listening to stories about her guns

Well, I wasn't put off by Zaeed being antisocial as some have come to label him, since he's one cool bad ass dude! However, I see Bioware being lazy by not including the dialogue wheel, the first DLC for Mass Effect had one, so why can't these?

@ embassy - He probably meant the Dragon Age DLC of Shale, who was a much more fully integrated character than the ME2 DLC characters.
Of course Shale wasn't so much DLC as something held back to get people to buy the game new, so maybe that's to be expected.

The first Mass Effect game's DLC, Bring Down The Sky, mission. That had a dialogue wheel, and it was awesome, not to mention very long too.
Well worth the money!

That's lame that it's going to cost, but it's too be expected I guess. Just got used to all the free DLC with the Cerberus network. I guess maybe they weren't getting as much from it with Used Game sales as they thought?

I wouldn't worry about that too much on insanity mode.... where every enemy is firing at you regardless of what your friends do to them, and most of them want to hug you anyway... especially invisible Geth or Krogans.

@ comtar: So it gets even worse on insanity, eh? I was already finding the weapon fire focus to be totally obnoxious on whatever standard +1 is (veteran?) difficulty. I walk into a fire fight cautiously, and my squad mates are shooting like crazy, and I pick up 95% of the fire. Then, they leap over the cover and stand directly in the rain of bullets headed toward me and die. Yeah, I need to get better at controlling my squaddies, but what exactly is the point of tactical combat when shep is some kind of super aggro magnet all the time no matter what?

I want to thank all of you for making me. It was in 2046 that I first was programmed into cell code by Bioware as an example of what could be done in D.oQ-gaming (a term I will not disclose here, for your own good). After 2011 the franchise grew even further and by 2019, it had become the biggest in the history of what we call the pre-structural media era. In 2108 my code was picked up by a cog mixer (cognitive remix analyzer) and coupled with the then new tissue printer in an experiment conducted by Mass Effect fanatics, that's how I was born and through technology, you'll understand I wouldn't disclose, I'm happy I finally made the step towards all you people, so thank you, I will always be grateful.
Take care of your planet.

It's no surprise that they had another character in the works, since the team status screen (with all your recruits standing in a line) gives it away. Once you've recruited everyone, including Zaeed, there's a conspicuous empty space on the far right of your team lineup. Once this new Kasumi character goes there, I'm guessing there won't be any more recruits added, as both that screen and even the Normandy itself are getting cramped for space. Any mention of where on the Normandy she hangs out?
