Home is the only thing that PS3 owners have, of course they're going to spend about an hour in it, xD

The PS3 has so many great games to play, that even I, in my current PC fanboy state, am considering to buy one again (first one broke very early) and become a Sony fanboy again as I was before 2008.

I actually like HOME. I stay on it maybe an hour or so also. For the "Japanophiles" it's a dream come true if you make a Japanese account. You can also visit the European servers or vice versa for North America.

Every time I log on there is a new "location" on the World Map. You can play games in the virtual space, listen to music, watch videos all with people across the freaking WORLD for free!! Can you imagine being told in the 90s that consoles would allow us to do this??

I like the technological and social aspects of it , it's just amazing IMO. I try to enjoy Home for what it is, not for what it isn't.

Oh, come on it's not THAT bad. I mean, you do get to screw around and play a couple of games and talk to other people. Home's 'goal' is to get players to communicate and play games and it accomplished that. And honestly, it has shown improvements since it came out. Also, it's optional; optional and free, so there's not really much to complain about here.

This is just bullshit marketing skew.

There might be 12 million people who have used Home in total, but how many continued to use it after they wandered around for 30 minutes before realizing what a large waste of space it is?

Show me the monthly usage stats and the time each users spends in Home and we'll probably see something closer to a 500,000. And that's being generous.

Just to add to this (surprised no ones pointed it out):

Home is a feature, not a network, there are more people on live than on PSN, but Home is used by a minority of people on PS3 and to claim that live has twice as many people than there are people on home would be a great under-estimate.

So in summary, Whoppinberg can suck a cock.

I wish Home would get more game integration, like more unlockables. I use it every now and then just to play games and talk with friends and such.

Also, a facepalm emote would be nice.

I've got a question for everyone who knows and uses the word fanboys: How about you just choose the one you like and just enjoy it while at the same time don't go around gloating it to everyone else who doesn't think the same way as you?

I completely disagree. The only services that are on XBL that isn't on PSN (That I would use) is voice messaging and cross game chat. Also, 1 vs 100 is kinda cool....

"The way PSN is right now is outdated and is in no shape to compete with Steam or XBL."

I know this isn't the popular opinion, but so far both a friend and I have had nothing but trouble from Steam.

For me it just takes awhile to load the game sometimes ("Preparing to launch game" might be on screen for 15-20 seconds, when a normal/non-steam install launches instantly when I click the icon). Also, I can't seem to use Steam offline. If I sign in while online, then go offline, it works, but if I'm already offline then try to launch Steam it just keeps saying "Updating Steam". Once it tried to repair install itself, but to no avail.

As for my friend the new Beta made him get stuck at 26%. When he went to uninstall/reinstall Steam it deleted all his saves/games/mods without even asking. Tons of custom stuff he had was just gone.

So right now I'd say that the XMB/PSN is ahead of Steam, but that's just based on my limited experience with it (since I've only used Steam for a few weeks now).

So tell me, what did you expect from it?
It's exactly what it says on the tin.

I don't know why everyone keeps treating it as if it was supposed to be a AAA gaming title. It's not.

It's a virtual space for people who like meeting other people and chatting with those random people and apparently it's quite popular with them.

Good for those who enjoy it, why hate it so much? It's free and nobody is forcing you to use it, you know.

I love the judgmental attitude that is brought about by Home.

Yet, there are definitely worse ways to spend someone's time. Like on 4chan... or XBL Arcade Room.

Also, it keeps the ads off of the XMB so that makes it okay in my book.
