We may have to wait until March 30 for Modern Warfare 2's first DLC, the "Stimulus Package," but thanks to an Xbox Live Marketplace listing for the map pack, we aren't in the dark anymore as to its contents. The blurb reveals the pack will contain "5 additional action-packed maps," including three all new ones ("Bailout, Storm, and Salvage"), as well as two remakes from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare ("Crash" and "Overgrown").
"Bailout" is said to be "a multi-layered apartment complex," while "Storm" is described as "an open industrial park littered with heavy machinery," and "Salvage" is "a snowy junkyard fortified by stacked debris and crushed cars." Presumably, if you're reading about the details of unreleased a MW2 map pack, you already knew that "Crash" is a "war-torn urban environment" and "Overgrown" is set in a large dry creek. No pricing is set, unfortunately, though you can ogle the XBLM listing for now if it makes you feel any better (though we wouldn't suggest it).
[Update: Clarified Stimulus Package DLC date of release.]

yay for that, but I was never a huge fan of crash. Overgrown rocked though, and I felt like crash had a lot of community love, was that the case?

Imagine the beauty of an AC-130 or Chopper gunner on Overgrown.

Imagine, if you will, Modern Warfare 2, but good.

Not too sure about Crash, but Overgrown is very welcome!

That's very detailed for an XBLM listing. Sometimes I think they do it on purpose.

I'll just save the money and keep playing COD4 instead of supporting that god awful MW2

The designers would have had to rework the maps, tweaking sizing/placements, updating textures, etc. so it's not like they just brought them over without any effort.

Wasn't there a video with these maps 3 weeks ago?
Also, I'd really like to be able to import the maps I bought for COD4 since I paid for them and they're not being used right now. But I know that's not going to happen... :|

Yeah, it was actually just a post I read on a forum that linked to some unofficial COD fan blog. Could be bullshit. I hope so, because that'd make this a really hard purchase to justify to myself (and it really puts into perspective how silly the complaining people do about really good games like Braid and Trials HD is).

I wish they included "Bog" too. I almost exclusively play free for all, and that map is just perfect for small 8 player matches.

It'd be cool to have some sort of map importing feature akin to Rock Band 2's song importing.
To bad this is Activision.

I wouldn't want the entire collection of MW1 maps, mostly because a lot of those maps were not fun to play on. I only groan when Derail comes up in MW2. As long as the new maps aren't horrible like Creek or Chinatown (whatever it was called), it's all good.

Why do I get the feeling Activision's gonna be a dick and try and charge more then $10 for this? Seriously, it's 5 multiplayer maps, 2 of which are likely to be ports more then they will be remakes (like Bungie does for Halo).
If it's $10, I'll be more then happy to buy it. I loved Crash back in the day and I'd love to play it again. If it's more, I'll say the hell with it and spend my money elsewhere. Come to think of it, my Live subscription is still expired, so that's gonna be a bit of a problem, lol.

Supposedly it is going to be free. But I wouldn't hold my breath. Being a free map-pack would make sense given it's name. If it is not free, then it kind of invalidates the name of the map-pack altogether.
But like I said, don't hold your breath for it being free. Also it releases March 30th, I cannot believe Joystiq hasn't posted that yet. Activision confirmed the date to TeamXbox.
