NBA Jam on SNES was the greatest sports game I have ever owned. Might just have to pick this one up.

I really wish this wasn't going to be as terrible as it will likely be.

I hate the whole "This game should be on wiiware/xbla/psn" mentality for most games. A Boy And His Blob? Muramasa? Great games.

But this? The whole idea of NBA JAM is a quick, pick up and play, heavily arcadey sports title that is as basic in the rules as you can get.

How the hell does that not sound like the perfect downloadable title?

Being on a 4.7gb Wii retail disk, perhaps its too big for a downloadable game.

The size of the disc does not always match up to the size of the game.

I'm pretty sure Chicken Shoot does fill up the whole disc.

I'll most likely have a Wii by the time this releases so I'm definitely picking it up.
Hopefully, if this sells well, EA will either port it to 360/PS3 (XBLA/PSN?) or at the very least port NBA JAM Tournament Edition with online matchmaking.

This definitely looks like a ton of fun. I just hope there is online and motion controls are used conservatively

I don't really like sports games but have always loved NBA Jam.

It's one of the more frequently played games in my MAME machine.

I might have to pick this up

Same here Rob. My MAME cabinet has NBA Jam TE and NBA Maximum Hangtime as the 2 most played games. Number 3 is World Class Bowling. Love me some trackball.

I loved the original game... playing NBA Jam with my brother was like the only time he wasn't beating me up. It would be awesome to play this new game with him even though I'm SO disappointed with the announcer. =( Now when I say "BOOM ... shakalaka" I'm going to hear his stupid voice.

If these dumbass labels like "casual" and "hardcore" weren't applied to videogames, people would have a lot more fun with them. Are there HARDCORE and CASUAL movies or books? No, not in such moronic, base terms. Thanks, gaming "journalists".

Original NBA Jam is still gonna play and sound way better than this I'm guessing. I own a machine and we play all the time. It's still hype: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TdmRvWw-r7A
