That said, the announcer probably says "Kaboom!" four or five times. And yeah, somewhere in the middle there, we realized that NBA Jam just doesn't have that many catchphrases. But that's okay with us -- the gameplay looks fantastic! We'll have our impressions of the game up in a few weeks, but for now you can peep the trailer yourself just a few inches up.

"Im a real gamer" and "I own a Wii" do not belong in the same sentence! Wii is known to be for casual gamers "CASUAL". Meaning little kids and the elderly. Now if you said "I am a real gamer and own multiple consoles including the Wii" then that would be more acceptable. So please phrase your sentences correctly next time cause you might not meet a real gamer as nice as I am, and it could possibly get you hurt (not that I would harm a Wii owner claiming that they're a "real gamer"). Have fun with Grandpa!

I can put more words into factual sentences you won't like either (noted with capslock):
I've been a HARDCORE gamer for 24 YEARS and love the WII 2nd only to the Nintendo 64.
I have played PLENTY of HARDCORE games on the HD consoles and while i was impressed, i still prefer the WII (i would of course buy a Ps3 if i had the dollars, but the Wii is more than good enough for now).
The WII has plenty of good HARDCORE games, just because they are outnumbered 10:1 by crappy casual games, doesn't mean they don't EXIST.
I own more than 20 retail WII games, NONE of which are remotely CASUAL.
The WIIWARE service and VIRTUAL CONSOLE service are a great way of expanding a WII owners collection of HARDCORE games, as is the GAMECUBE compatibility.
When you remove SHOOTERS from the Ps3/360 library (cause dual-analog is FAIL for shooters, hence why i have a Wii for the far more accurate controls and very much want the Ps3 MOVE), as well as remove games that are also available on PC (i have a high-end gaming PC) the 360 and Ps3 librarys of good games suddenly HALVE.
Being a single dad with limited gaming budget, i need the console thats going to give me MOST BANG FOR BUCK, and since the Wii has GC compatibility and all the VC/Wiiware games ready to go, so i have plenty of gaming without even going retail, its a no-brainer.
YOU SUCK.

"factual sentences" "dual-analog is FAIL for shooters"
Two contradicting lines. The second is an opinion, not a fact.
Personally I'd rather play a good shooter with a dual analog controller than with a mouse/keyboard. Crazy, right? But I just find it to be a lot more comfortable. Not to mention I can use a controller while laying back in bed or in other odd positions where a mouse generally wouldn't work (but, to be fair and accurate^, a Wii Remote most likely would work).
Also, maybe it's just me, but looking through the Wikipedia article I can count around at least 45* PS3 big-name/AAA** exclusive games that are not FPS games.
Counting non-exclusive games that are not FPS leaves me with well over 70 games. I stopped counting around there, because it's just too much to keep going***.
Counting FPS and most TPS games (exclusive or not) I'm left with around 54 games. Only maybe 10 of those were PS3 exclusives from what I saw. To get to 54 I had to count a lot of upcoming or simply listed as "TBA".
So, 110+ non-FPS games is somehow equal to the 50-60 FPS games available for the system? I fail to see how taking out the FPS/TPS games takes away half the games. It barely takes out a third, and even then that's with lesser/casual/family games ignored.
^Pun intended.
*I count major upcoming games like ModNation Racers
**Not considering quality, just the games status. So both Lair and 3D Dot Game Heroes would be counted. Sports games are also included (once per series, not once per yearly installment).
***I stopped around Rock Band, but there were still a lot more I could've counted.
****I did not specifically count any PS1 or PSN games. I did not count any PS2 games.
It's around 6am here, and I'm just bored so please feel free to ignore me, even though I'm just stating factual sentences here (obviously mixed with a few personal opinions where noted).

You're points are valid and also why i mentioned my want of a Ps3. My comments were directed at the HD consoles generally, and why i believe owning a gaming PC and Wii gives almost all the games i could possibly want. Sure both HD consoles have great exclusive non-fps games i would love, but my gaming budget doesn't stretch that far, so i have to buy what has the best bang-for-buck.

@DCBlack: That's kind of the point. You don't like basketball, yet you like NBA Jam. I like basketball, but I got tired of NBA Jam 15 years ago. It's a game that's directed at a different audience than the sim NBA games.
I'm not saying one is better than the other, just that there's a market for both.

If they get Marv in there, they have to spice it up a la real life:
in the spring of 1997, a bombshell erupted. A Virginia woman, Vanessa Perhach, filed charges against Albert for assault and forcible sodomy. She claimed that he had bitten and abused her during a sexual encounter in a Washington-area hotel room. The case went to trial in late summer, with accusations of cross-dressing and bizarre sexual practices serving to sully the sportscaster's spotless reputation.

Everyone says the Wii needs more hardcore titles. Two birds with one stone here.

Wow - This looks terrible. The animation looks like a Flash video that they deliberately make choppy and disjointed for comedic purposes (like Jibjab videos). I really hope that it is just my computer having trouble with flash, but man that doesn't make me want to play that game at all ... and I really wanted to relive the 90s with this game too :(

JAMS IT IN!
Between those two phrasesand big head mode, that's the entire NBA Jam experience to me.
Damn, I gotta go back and play NBA Street Vol 2 again. It's the closest thing to NBA Jam that we've seen in recent years.

Don't they have an HD trailer for most Wii games anyways?
...it doesn't really help most times though, Wii games just don't record well.

Like Punch Out!! on the Wii, this game works the magic of making the game look like you remembered it, not how it actually was. Youtube some old NBA Jam videos and you'll know what I'm talking about.
I was pretty skeptical when this was announced, but it looks like they're hitting it right on the head.

So true! Looking back at NBA Jam on the SNES / Genesis made my eyes bleed. It's crazy how this Wii version was how I remembered it.
