There's a fairly in-depth look at the game over at EG, for those interested in learning more. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/hunted-the-demons-forge-preview?page=1

"developed by Interplay founder Brian Fargo's InXile Entertainment."
"takes us back to our roots"

For a minute there I was thinking of The Lost Vikings type game. I was close, but got no cigar it seems.

Oh, back to their "roots"! I thought it was going to be about slaves fighting monsters. Also, "the Lair of Screenshots" sounds like a picture with bad motion controls.

I bet it's not going to have same-system co-op, and I'll once again have to choose between buying a second console and two copies of the same game, or not buying the game at all. And it usually turns out being the latter.

Sadly, you're probably right. Far to few games this generation have split-screen co-op. Can I understand why? Sure. Doesn't mean I have to like it.

More than one game has been passed on due to lack of it.

One can hope though. *crosses fingers*

Why can't you play online?

I certainly hope its same system co-op but the screens do not give me much hope.

I need something good to fill in for Baldur's Gate and the Champions series.

If it's not then I will likely not be buying it either.

@Vidickron

It's not that we can't play online, it's just that some of us like playing on the same couch. When the other screws up, one can dole out punishment. :)

Not everyone has 2 gaming ready PC's in house either.

Good split screen games I know of:

- Borderlands
- Rainbow Six Vegas 2
- RE5
- Resistance

Wish there were more.

@Jack

My assumption is lack of juice. I recall reading somewhere that Gearbox had to do some work on Borderlands to get split-screen in without compromising visuals. Just not enough power to render two screens with their own perspectives, etc. I'm probably talking out of my arse, but that seems logical.

That or they're just lazy / doesn't make sense.

Color me cautiously optimistic. With Bethesda's recently published games (WET, Rouge Warrior) failing to impress I'm going to reserve judgment until some reviews come out.

I have the strong feeling that this is just a bare rip-off of Demon's Soul.

Technically it could be Makeup Warrior.

My reservations come from InXile's pedigree: the made the terrible Bard's Tale remake, they ported Line Rider to consoles, and their awkwardly-named HEI$T game was canceled. It's not much of a track record for that studio, Fargo's resume aside. That said, I am cautiously intrigued by the co-op adventures of Generically Tattooed Bald Guy and Boobella, Elven Archeress. I do enjoy co-op hack n' slash.
