About goddamn time. Oh and thanks Gamestop for your amazing pre-order bonuses that are now completely useless since I unlocked the AKS-74 anyway. Not sure about squad rush, but I'll have to check it out.

EA continues to do everything on their own servers and continues to screw things up. Brilliant.

Considering they have issues with the servers for every single game they release, I don't think that's the lone issue.

EA servers are the worst.

it honestly is extremely popular,

http://bfbcs.com/BFBC2_leaderboard/pc

80,000 people playing it after 2 weeks? and on the PC to boot? not bad for a game that isn't MW2 hyped.

Lesser of 2 evils?

Or we can run around Arcadey Warfare 2 and get stabbed up by those Lightweight fast moving space Marines that have a thing for using John Wayne shotguns....

No i dont want to hear about how sucky i am in MW2, i am a strong supporter of Infinity Wards versions of Call of Duty, but they ALWAYS let me down with those farkin "Perks" that turns a decent Multiplayer match into a mentally challenged child's dream.

They don't run around like Usain Bolt though, magically surviving shotgun blasts to the face, stabbing you and your entire team in a 3 second period with a tactical knife.

Yeah, I don't understand how they can have such awful servers for every single game that they release. It's obvious there's some serious cost cutting going on here.

Great timing on the server repair EA. I remember MW2 being down for nearly 2 weeks. This is a fast fix compared to that.

Really? Is that the reason there were days of glitched gaming to where you couldn't get a REAL game, squad booting, disconnection before/during/after games? So don't try to act cute with your lolwuts. I'm not bashing MW2. But it did take them forever to fix.

No one here is bashing MW2. It is a good game. It was a simple observation that EA fixed the servers more quickly than the problems MW2 had. You're obviously a whining fanboy.

it made tons of youtubers popular
it got a youtuber his dream job"
Well fantastic, you've convinced me. Seriously, that's the best reasons you could come up with? You didn't say anything about actually having better gameplay etc., it's the better game because people on youtube get lots of views?

mw2 may be the better game statistically but statistics aside, it is just a casual game, now if you want to use REAL tactics, and make kills you can be proud of, because you didnt camp to get your kills, you can get bc2. you dont like bc2 because you probably get your ASS handed to you by vehicles... bad company didnt need a previous goty gimmick to push it up the charts, because its gameplay and graphics overall trumped mw2. you can keep your campstreak rewards, tiny maps, and no bullet drop, ill stick with a REAL game

If I had to guess, they've got a contract with some manufacturer that is doing a less than stellar job of providing EA with the infrastructure necessary to support online multiplayer games. It would probably cost them an ungodly sum of money to get out of the contract, so EA is stuck with some manufacturer that probably bamboozled them into a contract. Or the execs went with whoever was cheapest while disregarding recommendations from the staff that would actually be working on it.

Having myself been in on the process of shopping around for servers a few times before, I can say that either case isn't a far-fetched scenario.

Really? Still complaining about server issues and connection problems?

These have been issues with Battlefield since BF2 (2005) and how in-efficient the browser was in that game.

I believe the "EA sux" argument is long dead because things like this happen with such a franchise like Battlefield, it's like having to put air in tires, it just is.

Wow. I must be the only B:BC2 player that hasn't had their stats wiped, or game frozen, or anything like that. I get lag here and there, but I have no idea what most people are complaining about.

Must be lucky I guess. I suck at this game, but still enjoy the hell out of it.

I haven't had any issues since the weekend after the game came out. Crossing my fingers for a patch to fix some gameplay issues, though. I'd like to see the mortar recharge rate slowed, and maybe the damage they inflict on MCOM stations decreased. It's frustrating when Rush matches devolve into a team full of snipers mortaring the stations from across the map.

Had some great games with some Joystiq folks. We kick asses.

Wait... there were issues? I played a few times on PS3 and found it to run as smooth as butter. It took me a while to get used to the glaring lack of visual fidelity compared to MW2, but I'll be damned if i wasn't enjoying the big-battle crazyness.

Admittedly, I have only logged on to play within the past week (I bought last Monday) and only a handful of times, but each time went great.
