Personally I want it to stay up there just because of the reaction it gets.

It's the only video game that successfully doubles as a troll.

It could be the most fun game on the planet, but one look at that setlist still makes me want to kill it with fire.

It's another one of those Wii success stories that everyone wants to see go away, kinda like Carnival Games, not necessarily because they are bad (though clearly low-budget, which encourages others to seek the pit of low-budget freedom). Also one where the wrong lessons are going to be learned

I'm surprised we haven't been flooded with dance clones yet...

wow, very good numbers. though I'm baffled that the 360 ratio is so high ... seems to have been a good move by Square going mulitiplatform, otherwise they would have lost all that fine sales.

I think it's safe to say that Final Fantasy's exclusiveness on Sony platforms has just ended.

they wouldn't have lost that much in sales...I know 8 people that were going to buy a PS3 when FF13 came out...but when it was announced as multiplatform they changed their minds....

Have you sen how rubbish and compromised the Xbox version is compared to the PS3 version? I don't think it will be. It will revert to Playstation, as the x360 sales will fll away much quicker than the PS3 sales.

At the end of the day SE (and everyone else for that matter) are now seeing the PS3 coming into it's own, at the same time the 360 is in it's final death throws.

That's partialy true.
The game itself is only slightly less sharp.
However the movies are crap - badly coded videos using archaic bink video codec (I still have *DOS* player for .bik 's!) with constant bit rate (ZOMG!) setting and 2 GB left of free space on DVD's that certainly could help IF used...
Bad videos that magnify lower resolution problems and nasty macroblocking in fast scenes (CBR fail) that look like some amateur made them during cofee (sushi?) break...

Nothing against the game, but this is getting a little ridiculous here.
Good job to them, though, I guess.

Agreed. I am 5 hours in and loving everything about it so far. Not sure what the gripe about the first 15 hours was all about. I am having a blast.

Have to agree with you Spike.

I'm about 17-18 hrs in and I feel the same way.

I gotta say though, this game is much harder then the Final Fantasies I'm used to... took about 10-12 hrs to get the hang of paradigm shifting. I've died more in the opening quarter of the game then I have in probably all the other games Final Fantasy games combined (havent played 2,3 NES or 8 PS1 though)

I love the game but you REALLY don't get what's wrong with the first 15 hours of that game?

It's a 15 hour long, single corridor with different backgrounds and enemy fights in between. I wouldn't even call that "gameplay". It's not even linear. It's the first ever on-rails RPG. Go forward -> Fight -> Go forward -> Fight.

This said I freaking love this game. The graphics are amazing, soundtrack is awesome and the game itself is very engaging.

Just hope that the map design gets more creative later on in the game... That's my only gripe. This, and the incredibly unforgiving fighting system.

I think Final Fantasy XIII is gonna end up the opposite of FF XII where the fans love it but critics don't. (Even though I love XII as well)

There's nothing wrong with the first 15 hours of gameplay. It's simply not some people's cup of tea. I personally have the patience and find the enjoyment in what they have created. I see no problems with the first hours of the game. It goes for any other game. For example the first hours of Bioshock 2 people might have not liked because it took a while to get into the story. I, myself, had no problem with it. Simply to each their own.

Fair enough then.

"I think Final Fantasy XIII is gonna end up the opposite of FF XII where the fans love it but critics don't. (Even though I love XII as well)"

Funny that you said that, because that's exactly what I was thinking. It's getting very weak reviews (for a Final Fantasy title) and still, I really, really enjoy playing it.

As I said: love the game, but understand where the frustration is coming from.

I dont know Archon

the game isnt much different then Final Fantasy X, that game never opened up, you could play a little in the calm lands, but every other moment in that game was just as narrow as FFXIII. that being said, I have no problem with that, no more spending hours trying to find a door that actually opens, or roaming around not knowing where to go.

Happy to see Heavy Rain still hanging in there at 4th place. Hopefully it got legs so that we continue getting games released that are about more than 'boom headshot' or Japanese Lolita fantasies.

Don't know if it's mentioned but Just Dance sponsors a reality TV show over here, about a dance studio no less. That's why it's probably got the stamina, as soon as the series is over it will probably drop from the charts. It's called Pineapple Studios if anyone wants to check it out.

Just Dance is an okay game if you have friends that like to enjoy themselves, primarily through the use of alcohol and, or, any other substances, illicit not excluded; Just Dance is popular with people who have friends.

Should I worry for the people who condemn innocent players of Just Dance?

I like how #1 and #2 are not only games that I bought one day after the other (FFXIII being the one I bought later), but also games that I am enjoying the hell out of.

This past week has been me pretty much staring at screens in between showering, eating, and sleeping. Being on break from college is awesome (even if I only have four more days of hot lazyness ahead of me).
