I just hope they didn't sign anything binding with Guitar Hero. I'd give both kidneys just to have the drum charts for their discography

"Also shown was a note-tracked penis, though our camera wasn't quick enough to capture that fleeting image. (Not that you'd want to see it, anyway.)"

Oh gosh...I just hope it wasn't in overdrive.....Luckily I can unsee it. Wait...wait....no...NO!

The best songs will eventually make it over to the PS3 but I don't know if they have any plans for making the tools available to PS3 owners.

Don't ask Harmonix, ask Sony. This falls on Sony and Nintendo for it to ever be possible. It runs on the 360 simply because Microsoft already had the XNA system in place to make the RBN a reality. Without XNA, RBN is not possible.

Dont act like XNA is god, they built tools based on accessible tools. PS3 will still get the better songs generated from it. If anything it's better to minimize the options for people who might flood the network with content that they'd have to moderate.

They built the tools, but the tools alone aren't enough. You also need the ability for Distribution and Peer Review for quicker releases, that's the point of XNA. Instead of having to go through Microsoft, it goes through the community. By the community, for the community.

Sony does not provide that, and they prefer having an iron grip on ALL content on their system, it's the same reason why DLC for the PS3 is on thursdays, not Tuesdays like the 360 and Wii.

"Songs ... wouldn't support the Rock Band Stage Kit."

This is incorrect. The Rock Band Stage Kit lighting functions work under RBN just fine. What charters don't have access to is the cue to trigger the fog machine. The rationale was that very few testers would have the Stage Kit to test the fog cues, and thus someone could release a song that would flood the room with fog wihout being caught in playtesting/peer review.

However, the lights on the Stage Kit follows from the stage lighting in the on-screen performance, and that can be set by RBN track authors.

Most likely soon (30-90 days) and sooner if PS3 users stop sharing their content.

Then you best start complaining to Sony about it. Until Sony puts a system in place that is equivalent to XNA, the PS3 will NEVER see RBN.

PS3 will get the songs too eventually, I recall that being something they mentioned in the beginning. The tools are what we're not getting. Shared content is still paid for content that wouldnt change just because it's an indie song.

It's a shame they didn't promote the Stage Kit better.

People ask if they can come over to play at my house, merely because I have the Stage Kit. I've had to buy large gallon sized containers of fog fluid.

Sidenote: That fog machine does not mess around, you can fill a room in no time at all.

That's why I'm totally OK with RBN songs not having fog machine access. In Still Alive, that beast never quits pumping it out. Plus if you leave a song before the "stop fog" cue is sent it will never stop. Same with the strobe, actually.

Is there anyway to use the stage kit and not use the light show part on it as the controller while you have 4 instruments hooked up?

I'm not entirely sure you can turn off just the strobes and leave the fog machine on, but you can definitely turn off the fog and leave the strobe lights on

@chaos3346 It's the Rock Band Stage Kit equivalent of GLaDOS trying to kill you with deadly neurotoxins.

I would absolutely love for Fuel to create some rock band network tracks. Shimmer and Bittersweet from their album Sunburn and Hemorrhage and Empty Spaces from their Something Like Human album would be awesome.

they really should make it more clear that you must have RB2 for this, as you can't get the RBN on the original.
and on that note, i downloaded the rock band music store on XBL... why couldn't it have been incorporated into that?
so if i wanna buy one of these songs im forced to go upgrade to RB2 which i dont care about. LAME
