Its games like this that make it hard to choose which HD console i want to compliment my Wii. Its like as soon as i settle on 1 console, something is announced or something that makes me wanna change my mind. God of War 3 and Playstation MOVE, changed my opinion to Ps3, then this game is trying to change it back. Dammit!

I think that you'd be happy with either at this point with either system. I'd just go with whichever has the exclusives you want to get to first. Personally, I use my 360 more and buy more games for it, but part of the reason may be I've had quite a bit longer.

Yeah but Splinter Cell is also on PC, so it has to be console exclusives Wolf. I have also never enjoyed a Gran Turismo game and highly doubt i will enjoy the new one.

Just buy an xbox. Most games, which are multiplatform, look, and work better on the xbox, plus its cheaper. If you are loaded, buy both!

Even though I bought one near launch, I'd get a 360 if I didn't have one already.
-Serious Sam HD
-The First Condemned
-Splinter Cell: Conviction (I use a Mac)
-Metro 2033
-Dead Rising
-Gears 1/2
-Fable 2/3
-Mass Effect
-Fallout 3 DLC came first (even though I still waited for the GOTY Disc)

Out of all of those, I still would have bought one because of the first two on that list.

^ Add Hitman: Blood Money and Bioshock to that list.
Yes, it's also on PS2...

I have zero interest in Halo.

I loved Fable 1, but was majorly disappointed by Fable 2. Even with more of this "Fable 3 will redefine the franchise...the industry...the way gamers feel" stuff, I still feel like I am going to be disappointing again. If anything this game looks like what F2 should have been.

Cj, I loved Fable and was disappointed by Fable 2 as well, even to the point as returning Fable 2 (the only game I have ever traded in, and I have the Sonic 06 game on my shelf) after a week. But try playing it again, preferably with a friend or a sibling. I did after the first episodic thing came out completely co-op, and I had a blast.

I have all the DLC. In hopes that I would feel better about it. Nothing. And co-op just angered me more. How could a game about your unique person have preset co-op characters?

How I think it would work best:
Release the first section for free a week or two before the game comes out, sort of like a demo, then a day before (preferred because people who purchase episode 2 are more likely to purchase the rest) or the day that Fable 3 is released, come out with the rest of the episodes (maybe with a day or two between each to help the servers) for a decent price, maybe a 55 dollar total to encourage the digital purchase.
Personally I will be picking up the retail copy.

Peter has brought a lot to gaming. He's one of the few visionary developers who dare try to come up with new concepts and gameplay to explore instead of repainting older methods.

Specifically, Molyneaux has focused on ways to immerse a player into the in-game world. He HAS brought a lot to games, Fable III will add to what he has brought (Giving the player of an RPG the role of ruler is something I haven't seen done yet), and I think people should recognise that. If his games do seem disappointing, it's mostly because the current technology is unable to match his imagination.

"The Emotion Engine"

Real original.

I do find it funny how he finds the Dashboard horrible, though. And admitted it.

I'm maybe loving these episodes. I'm ecstatic about the idea, but it needs to be executed properly. Developers should not save finished scenes in a game for their DLC episodes, which is obvious. I feel like a broken record: Give me a full, complete game, so that I have time to finish it and then I don't feel nickel and dimed. Then, say, 2-3 months later release an episode. Fallout 3 did it, and it worked perfectly. Plus, it'll give time for the developers to give us a complete, long, and satisfying DLC. Again, Fallout 3 did this, and I still cite that as probably the best DLC of all time. I would be delighted to see this done with episodes, especially with games like Alan Wake, given it's horror novel/TV show theme.

DO IT RIGHT, DEVS.

My point being that no game has made me feel the way Heavy Rain did. I cared for the characters and was emotionally spent by the end of it. Then again Heavy Rain is a love/hate game so whatever I guess.

Is it wrong that, and I hope this is vague enough to be spoiler free, at the end of the prologue in Heavy Rain, my first and only thought was "But what did they do with the organs? Some of them could still be good, dammit!" or is that a healthy response to the situation?

He may be a kid with big dreams but little hands, but at least he puts out the ideas. Even if he can't finish them, other developers will.

I respect him as a visionary, even if he dissapoints sometimes.

I agree peter is a thinker and at some points a dreamer but that's a good thing. He has a continuing drive of inventiveness to him. He doesn't stick with one set because it worked the first time. Each iteration of Fable in the series had a different style and flow to it. Not saying it worked perfectly in each game but it was that drive to try something new.

I loved Fable 1, and Fable 2 I didn't hate. I actually quite enjoyed it. Those stupid flit switches really pissed me off though. Because of them I couldn't finish the DLC or the last quest where you investigate the castle. But what I liked was that I had the whole game right there. I didn't have to wait for the next part. When I sat down to a Fable game, that's all I played til it was beat. I don't want to have it broken up where I play the first part, go to some other game, eventually come back, and yada yada. If they make an episodic release, be it digital or retail, I won't buy it. Not until they make it the 'Molyneux's Ultimate Prized Super Awesome Revolution In Gaming' edition with all the episodes.

Comparing his work to Charles Dickens as a way to justify charging full price for unfinished work puts him at the presidential level of shoveling feces into the public's mouth and convincing them it's delicious. He is a freaking genius.

Rented Fable 1, didn't like it. Read reviews of Fable 2, didn't like it. fable 3 isn't even pretending to be an RPG and PM, the ultimate hypster is already saying he plans to release an unfinished game so he can milk more money from those buying into his mediocre game with 'episodic' content.

In keeping with tradition I won't be buying F3 either.

I honestly wonder if gamers are perhaps the most gullible segment of the economy.

As I posted in the comments the other day, Peter said the same thing to Tech Radar at the Golden Joysticks so I think it's pretty much a given it'll be released episodically.

http://www.couchcampus.com/gaming/gaming-news/fable-iii-to-also-be-released-in-episodes/

The real question is if that will be day & date with retail and at what price.

I loved Fable 1, it felt like a magical tim burton-esuqe ARPG the levels were all interesting the story was great and the combat was awesome. Fable 2 was a huge let down, I did not like the setting very much, its was less fantasy more 14th-18th century and it lacked a certain je ne sais quois.

If Fable one was remade with Fable 3s Graphics engine, a much longer story and a larger world, with the dezinry to match (kinda like oblivion but with a good combat engine)

Ugh.

Oh, look! Peter Molyneux is making a promise about a feature of his latest game! Surely we can now take this man at his word.

I wonder how deeply farting will be woven into gameplay, or on a serious note, how much Peter Molyneux is just talking crap AGAIN.

Also, a better point for PM to have made regarding Fable and Dickens's novels is that they were published episodically. So, you know.

It seems like they're marketing Fable 3 as a kind of anti-game. The first released concept art featured a gloomy king surrounded by spolied-looking children. And now, introducing, a ferry you can't board to an island you can't go to. Isn't this a world you ache to inhabit? Doesn't this sound like a game you would love to play?

Well, if there was one complaint that carried through Fable 1 and 2, it's that there was just too much unique and interesting stuff to do! You know... Like jerkily navigating terrain... or chopping wood... or marrying a dozen identical women...

C'mon, Molyneux! Just bring back the original Fable's fishing minigame and I'll reserve my eye-rolling until after Fable 3's release.

The reason PM is not finished is probably because he is reading too much Dickens.
Hopefully this time the character can put the axe to the dogs head.
