It's the only game, other then Sam and Max, to interest me this week.

Two niche games make a great month now?

He can't think it's a great month because he has different taste in games than you? Pretty lame, Tigre.

I often wonder what people mean by "niche game"...

...is it that it's not well advertised?
...is it that it's not made by a big company?
...is it that it's not the best graphics?
...is it that it's not an FPS/HackNSlash-Platformer?

...not sure what it means to be a niche game... unless you mean something like Scribblenauts, in which I assume "niche" is "too unique for a standard market".

Fragile is pretty much a standard market game. It's basic in design, but works. But I assume you think no one's into "Japanese stuff", to call it niche.

And Cave Story has proven itself already on the PC to have a large populace of fans... though technically niche, it's still a large populace.

...if you're gonna' be that way, then I'll call Dead Space a niche game. Survival Horror may bring a ton of people to its doorstep, but a large percentage still avoid it because it's a survival horror. Not to mention, there's still a large percentage that avoid gory games.
So though a large populace of gamers liking Dead Space, it's still a survival horror game... which has been a niche genre for a long time (until they started adding assault rifles into them... which makes them less scary).

I got my PS3 today. The only game disk I have is GoW Collection, bonus - the only GoW I've played is CoO. So I'm playing all three in a row, getting 3 when I finish 2. I knew I was planning on getting a PS3 when GoW came out - but I seriously did not think it would happen out of the blue, right now.




I feel like I just got my big boy underwear.
