If you've been holding out on buying an Xbox 360 for the last five years you live in Canada, you'll be totally psyched to hear that the Arcade bundle of Microsoft's console is currently on sale in for $130.
The Xbox Canada site lists the price drop for both Futureshop and Best Buy, though we also found it over at Amazon Canada and GameStop Canada. Get 'em while you can! We've followed up with Microsoft to clarify whether or not this is a permanent change for our Canadian friends, and, of course, if we'll be seeing a similar sale/price drop in the US.

they'll make it back when you have to buy that 250GB HDD to install a few games and DLC...

There are no installs (beside one MMO - FF11) this isn't PS3.
IIRC - Inside Arcade is 512MB flash so at least some DLC will work.
Anyway if you want to download demos movies etc. (refurbished/used) 20GB drives are dirt cheap.

@ anonim1979: I have no install, no XBLA games, no Themes, no paid Avatar items, only save data and only free DLCs (no paid DLCs) and I have 77GB used of my 120GB HDD.

You'll eventually end up buying a lot of overpriced accessories, no doubt.

ahhhh, something called parity is happening, again. While welcome - it sure does cause some grief, depending on what industry and what side of that industry you are working on.
The US dollar will continue to lose value, you can thank the Federal Reserve for that magik trick. As it stands now, one US dollar is worth $0.05 cents of the first dollars issued when the Fed was created in 1913.
We don't call that inflation, it's progress!!

Is this a sign that MS is starting the price drops earlier then I thought (I was expecting them to drop the price at E3).

$127.21 is an odd price. $129.99 is not.
However; both are completely valid prices.
I don't understand the issue.

I'm not interested in 360 but I've been seeing these deals on Cheap Ass Gamer and it's pretty damn cheap. You don't get a hard drive or wifi, what does the price come to once you add those in?

I brought up wifi cause I'd require wifi due to how my house is set up. I shouldn't have said I'm not interested in 360, just that I'm not interested in actually buying one but still curious about the pricing/features.

I gotcha....
Best bet is to get an "Elite" and a Wifi adapter....thats $400....which is what I paid for my Elite alone last year.....then I got a wifi adapter off of eBay for $40...

Not saying this to be a fanboy, but the crazy $100 wifi adapter is one of the reasons I never bought a 360. Most 3rd party games do run better on 360 but I prefer PS3's exclusives so I'm gonna stick with PS3. I will admit that my 60GB PS3 got the YLOD last month, so I'm definitely not gonna make any RROD comments!

Screw wifi. Wah wah wah, house isn't set up for wires/wife won't let me put in cables. Grow a pair already and just put the wires in. There are plenty of options for hiding cables available.

Dude, I'd rather spend $100 on the wifi adapter than reorganize my entire house or pay some guy to drill holes through the walls.

Yeah, not to split hairs, but you can still get the original MS adapter from Amazon for $74 and the new N model for $80. That's free shipping eligible and no tax so, not quite $100.
If I could route cables in my place conveniently, I'd do it. Otherwise, I think it's a small price to pay for the convenience of wireless.

Why does everyone say the wifi is $100? Even in Canada the N-adapter is $80; I know its still unreasonably high, but eh.

It's time for houses and apartments to be wired with Ethernet jacks as well as phone jacks. That way all of this can avoided.

@Bubba:
While it would be nice to have ports in every room, wireless is the future. Most of us don't use the phone jacks in our walls and they have become wasted, ugly wall space. The same thing will happen to ethernet ports.

if you have a laptop connected to your house's wireless, you can very easily bridge the connection by hooking up your laptop to your xbox via an ethernet cable. it doesn't take any computer knowledge and it's super simple. saved me $100!

Bubba is right. There will always be wires.
And for me personally, there will ABSOLUTELY always be wires. It's obviously much a personal preference at this point, but there no denying that a wired connection is always superior to a wireless one.
But for security reasons alone there will always be those (businesses or individuals) that can't afford to risk anything but a wired.
Plus, until we perfect wireless power (or some voodoo portable power source), wired communications will remain a sensible method of connectivity.
Again, this is no rap against wireless users... it's just to say that wires aren't going away.
