Sounds like a game of Clue. "Colonel Mustard, with the ChAIR, in the game room."

I finished Shadow Comples this weekend. Absolutley loved it.

It's funny though - at the end of the game when the credits rolled I noticed that the Chair team xseemd to be around 9 people and then there were lists and lists of people who seemed to have little to do with it. Maybe if more of these extraneous people were cut from the game cost then it wouldnt be so financially dengerous to make gasmes...

Same with Flower, too. Hundreds of people after a small dev team list.Like seriously, does Sony Legal really deserve to be in the credits??

Sometimes I think it's just people want their credits to be more like movies, with lots of names on them. When I was a student I was like that, we pumped as many names as we could into our credits (so long as they actually did do something) and even listed our own names under multiple titles.

I've always been a fan of these types of games but could never finish them. About half-way through when the difficulty cranked up but the game wasn't getting any more fun, I would stop playing.

Shadow Complex made me want to keep playing.

there's a HUGE fanbase of 2D games.....just look at NewSuperMarioBros for Wii or StreetFighterIV. Really wish the game companies would get a clue that it doesn't have to be all 3D. Hell, we just started getting beautiful 2D games when hardware came out for crappy 3D and they all just walked out on 2D because 3D was the next big thing.

MORE 2D GAMES PLEASE!!!!!

Shadow Complex was wonderful. It's one of the few games I've started up again straight after the end of the credits. I'm still chasing the "Minimalist" achievement.

Easily one of my favourite games of last year. One of the few that I went back to starting over the second I finished it. Here's for hoping that CHair has more of the same up their sleeves for this year.

While a highly derivative game, it was also one of the best derivations from the original source in a long time. That in and of itself made it worthwhile. Tapping into the Metroid vibe did this game wonders.

I have an ever-increasing propensity to drift back towards the classic side-scrollers. Seeing them crop up in either this form, or in the case of the Mega Man games, as if they had never stopped 8-bit development, makes this gamer very, very happy. What's old is new again, and it is good.

"If you even wanted to experience that kind of game, you need to either have a Super Nintendo or a Game Boy, or an original PlayStation."

What? Full-scale 2D games are still being made, unless he means a very specific type of game

He didn't say 2-D game. He said, very specifically: "Which to us was kind of this Metroidvania side scroller adventure genre that had been abandoned. No one was making games in this genre." and then preceded your quote with:

" No one's going to make a next-gen side scroller in this style, so we said, 'We're going to and we're going to do it on this platform."

When you leave the DS or the Wii, the number of 2D games shrinks drastically. Platformers are even fewer and 'Metroidvania' games were non-existent on the 360 at that time.

Shadow Complex really rocks. Simple execution, beautiful visuals, nice build up. If you haven't played it yet go get it.

Uh, Symphony of the Night is on XBLA. And Konami still makes games like it all the time. And stuff like Dark Void Zero exists on DSiWare. The genre wasn't abandoned. It just moved.

This was the first and only XBLA game that I got 200/200 gamerscore for. It was worth it.

"There was nothing on 360 even remotely close to this."

They must have forgotten about Symphony of the Night when they said this. ;)
