I don't need the reviews an opinions of 100 other people to know that god of war 3 is better than bayonetta.

I got it midnight and played 90 minutes already.
Two things:
You don't get to do any platforming for 90 minutes. Argh.
You don't get to a save station until about 45 mins in! But even though you didn't see a save station, from what I can tell it is autosaving. It'd be nice if it told you.
One more thing, for those playing Heavy Rain recently, joystick moves (half circle clockwise for example) are done with the LEFT stick in GoW. I forgot and it didn't bother telling me I was using the wrong stick so I died over and over for 5 minutes straight.

Silly fanboys, just buy GOW3 and be happy :/

It tells you it is autosaving very prominently.
You just didn't pick up on it. No offense, but if you spent 5 minutes dying repeatedly before using the left stick, you may just not pick up on cues. And that might explain why you move through the game more slowly than you'd like. If it takes you 130 hours to get to the end, that puts a lot of your other claim into perspective.
I just think this genre is boring, though, so don't think I'm fanboying the game.

Hahaha that's almost certainly going to get me, even with the warning, goddammit.

I'm getting through the game slowly because I'm playing on hard. If I wanted to blast through it, I'd lower the difficulty. How fast am I supposed to get through it? Except for one bit (ironically the bit where I kept getting killed by the centaur) you're fighting a huge boss the whole time. You learn how to fight these things by dying. Like when this leg rears up it's going to crush down on the right, etc. So it's going to take some time no matter what.
I picked up on the cue every time, it's very obvious. I saw the half circle indicator down there, tried to do it and it didn't work. There was no "use the other stick" cue. And I was playing Heavy Rain less than 2 hours before, I don't think I'm completely stupid for not immediately figuring this out. A tip from the game would have been helpful.
No previous God of War game has autosaved before you first saved the game before. 1 and 2 just saved your game over your current slot periodically. Before you reach this first saver 45 mins (or so) in and you manually save you don't have a current slot for it to auto save over. So how was I to know GoW3 saves autosaves in a separate slot? You think I should have quit, thinking I had no save game and then loaded just so I could sooner find out it worked differently now?
If it takes me 130 hours to get through, I don't think I'll be unhappy. I'll only be unhappy if I get through in under 5 hours.
Anyway, for those out there who do move more quickly than me you'll have to fight the first boss more than 3 times before you see a spot, but don't fret, it seems to be autosaving for you even though in previous GoW games it wouldn't have been since you hadn't established a save slot yet.

All I can say is......
OMFRACKINGOW
now, back to playing and picking my jaw off the carpeting over and over again, and when you play this game on an HDTV....get a bucket for all the drool.
PS3 exclusive after PS3 exclusive...setting the bar higher and higher each time. And to think we are only in year 3 of the PS3.
PS3 it only outdoes its own jawdropping exclusives

It is really amazing. The PS3 so often comes out on the short end of the stick graphically in head to head comparisons. But this game does so many things that I'm not sure the 360 can even do. It really does appear that Ken Kutaragi was right, that the PS3 is a graphical powerhouse. It's just too bad it apparently is so difficult for developers to access it. Not every dev can afford to spend $44M making a game look good.

Someone in my apartment building signed for my UPS package. I guess I don't get to play God of War 3 on launch day. God bless America.

Not trying to diss your slower play, if that's what's happening. You're right, that's a great way to get more value out of a game, if it doesn't drive you nuts with frustration.
No worries, man.
