I would definitely have to play the Beatles Rockband, listen to the great Elton John's- Border Song. I would start a conversation with the pope, cause I got some things to say to discuss with him, and I've never spoken personally with an Italian.

I never understood the hate for Nickelback. In fact i didn't actually know the hate existed till i came here. Maybe its only Joystiq readers? Everyone i've ever met likes Nickelback, my usb thumb drive connected to my headunit has about 2-4 songs on there of theirs (which i dont skip if it randomly picks one), heck i've even made a Naruto AMV to one of them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGGUUYkYcpg

So whats the deal? How come i never heard about the hate till i came here, and is it as widespread as on this site? How come i've never met anyone personally who hates them?

I agree, I will definitely NOT be rocking Nickelback. But I could be rocking some Metallica, whilst playing Guitar Hero: Metallica on Xbox 360, & chatting it up with my fiance' who will continue to think I'm a total nerd.

It is cool and trendy to dislike things, especially things that other people claim to dislike first. And to be honest, I dislike myself for even taking the time to say such a thing, which may inadvertently make me just a touch cooler when everyone else gets around to disliking me.

One entry per day, right? LOL at people just replying to get at the top of the list...

Anyway, on to the subject at hand: why Nickelback is evil incarnate.

Well, it's really not their fault. You see, someone has to birth you in order for you to be born. Nickelback's atrocities against music and gaming are many in number, so I'll give you some examples off the top of my head.

- They have some of the worst song titles in recent memory: “Something In Your Mouth” (“misogynistic”, awful!), S.E.X... “Animals”....

- They'd sell their souls for money: http://g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/697063/download-ie-8-get-free-nickelback-track-thanksi-guess.html

- They hate on video games, which is one of the main reasons most people hate them: http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/21/nickelback-singer-put-down-the-guitar-hero/

- Here's my main beef with them. Okay, so everyone loves Seal... The guy whose married to Heidi Klum. Seal is responsible for the BEST MOVIE HERO THEME OF ALL TIME: "Kiss From A Rose"

Well, Chad Kroeger comes along during the making of Spiderman 2, and decides he'd like to try and dethrone SEAL, SEAL OF ALL PEOPLE off the Best Movie Hero Theme of All Time by making an insipidly useless song devoid of soul called... "Hero".

Now, let me quote some of the lyrics from this horrible song:

"Someone told me love will all save us.
But how can that be, look what love gave us.
A world full of killing, and blood-spilling
That world never came."

And you want to compare that garbage to SEAL??? The man who created "Kiss from a Rose"? How is it possible that Chad Kroeger would even think of stealing Seal's legacy right from under him? The only answer: he and his bandmates ARE PURE EVIL.

And THAT is why I hate Nickelback... as should everyone else on the internet.
