I'll reserve judgement, but UFC provides some pretty stiff competition.

PS - I hate myself for using the word "stiff" whilst talking about sweaty dudes fighting . . .

Hmm.

I don't care what engine they use without the UFC name and popular fighters this game will fail. Fedor isn't fighting any of the top heavyweights in Strikeforce and he won't be holding onto his #1 HW in the world title much longer. Aside from that, will Strikeforce even be in business by the time this game comes out in the Fall?

My thoughts exactly. Strikeforce is going to run themselves right out of business from poor management. They're trying to beat UFC by just throwing money around and it's not bringing in the talent they need.

Agreed. UFC is the face of MMA in America at least. Ask your average person about MMA, and I'll bet they'll think of UFC first. Ask 'em about fighters. Bet they'll be on the UFC roster.

UFC 2010 is coming as well, with Brock as their cover fighter. Yeah, even if mechanics wise EA MMA is better, it won't match the sales. Though I'll definitely be on board if it plays better. Could care less about who's in it.

Well to be fair, StrikeForce has Bobby Lashley in the game. They just might put him on the cover.

Both Brock and Bobby are Former WWE Heavyweight Champions.

Ah, thanks for reminding me of that. I completely forgot about Lashley. Definitely evens the playing field a bit.

Can do without the snotty attitude, guys. It's bad enough on wrestling coverage, at least MMA is a real sport.

Every post on either of the two main MMA games comes over condescending due to ignorance. It's getting boring.

The looks pretty bland and with out the big name UFC list this is going to flop.

I think I'll stick with UFC. EA isnt getting anymore money out of me. I want to play with my favorite fighters not some nobodies and washed up fighters!

likewise ; I am sticking with UFC - a much pleasing on the eye game, with recognised fighters who look real. Not clay muppets.

I would guess Randy Couture, he's one of the UFC's biggest stars and has been on ESPN plus a few films. Nobody in Strikeforce really matches his popularity in the states, not even Fedor.

Looks... vanilla. I dunno, those visuals don't have the same "holy sh*t, that looks damned good" impact that the last UFC game had (and the next likely will).

I'm glad that they will be updating the new "Grapple and Groin-punch for 10 minutes" system. The last version was lacking.
