Seriously? Did you have to create a rock version, an 8-bit version and even a Dreamcast-style version? Sure, they're cool, and sure, we've embedded them after the break, but isn't this exactly the kind of excitement we all agreed we wouldn't have for the new game? Yes, we're glad to see that longtime Sonic musician Jun Senoue has been announced as the composer for new game, and we're looking forward to hearing more music when the Sega blog releases it. But as your history teacher said, those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it. Let's wait until we play the game before we start remixing it 10 seconds at a time.
Sonic fans remix Sonic 4 intro, get way too excited

Oh, Sonic fans. Every time a new Sonic is announced, you joke about not getting fooled again and you promise that, this time, you won't be taken in. And we believe you -- why would you go back to Sonic after everything he's done to you? But then a few weeks go by, and suddenly we click a link and find you remixing the 10 seconds of intro screen music that's been revealed from Sonic 4.

Ditto. It sounded a little off (like it was recorded from speakers at a distance maybe), but if they could clean it up a bit, I think it'd be really cool.

hmmm I guess I should have been more sarcastic in my post...
I meant the original, as in the new intro music for Sonic 4, was fine and didn't need 2 new remixes already.
Sonic the hedgehog 4 might as well be called Sonic Advance 4, cept its not on the GBA.
Dimps+2D Sonic = fun for all.

I'm curious when did you all begin to hate Sonic?
I played and loved Sonic Adventure/Adventure Battle 2 or whatnot you may call them and I also picked up Sonic Heroes. Heroes was nothing compared to the "Adventure" series but it was ok. I haven't actually played any of the what seems like million Sonic games since then but I have tried the demos and didn't care much for them.
On the topic of Sonic Adventure Battle 2 I loved every single part of that game and if the rumored Sonic Adventure comes out on Live Arcade I will be purchasing it.

I have a feeling I'll get downvoted for this. But do I care? Noooooooo.
To be fair, Sonic 4 Episode 1 looks to be - key words being "looks to be" - the first step towards what the hardcore fans have wanted for the past sixteen years: a true sequel to Sonic 3 and Knuckles. Whatever that may be. So their enthusiasm isn't too surprising. Hopefully not in vain.
At least Joystiq didn't link to the Sonic Cycle. That joke got real old real fast.

I'm going to go with "Because Mario games have been consistently awesome or at least rather good whereas Sonic games started sucking somewhere between when sonic finally went 3D and when Sonic 3 came out.

The intro music isn't even that good compared to the good sonic games imo, just because it has Sonic's name attached to it the fanboys go nuts

After having seen all the Sonic praise and disappointment from fans over the years. Your continuing support with photo shop pics and audio remixes, regardless of all the bad Sonic games. I'd just like to say one thing.....Get a life people! It's just a Video Game about a cartoon Hedgehog.

The third one sounds like a remix of the Sonic CD intro to make it sound like the Sonic 4 intro http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-I8XpxWuUP4. That was released on the Sega CD, not the Dreamcast.

As far as video game music composing goes, Jun Senoue is a BRILLIANT composer.
Some of the best music written in the history of man (in my very honest but relatively unimportant opinion) can be found in Super Mario 64, Donkey Kong Country, the Sega Sonic games, and Zelda OoT.
So remember, if you want your mind musically stimulated intellectually, go with Mozart, Miles Davis, Pink Floyd, Sigur Ros and Sonic the Hedgehog.
