Not only does PlayStation Move enable realistic motion controls for PS3 games -- it also allows for corporate dispatches from the future. We didn't hear about that at any press conference! But there's Kevin Butler, addressing us from November 2010 about advances in nutrition and the success of the PlayStation Move. That means, according to Sony's time travel technology, the Move should be out sometime in November at the latest.
This commercial features plenty of footage of some guy completely battering air in Motion Fighter, along with some not-so-subtle callouts of the motion-based competition, and even a little bit of reverent Tretton worship. Check the ad out after the break.
thats why they did it tho.....took a jab at both Nintendo and MS.....I'm sure MS will do the same later....hell Greenberg already has the script written for the "NATAL" commercial I'm sure
In my opinion, a rip off is something blatantly copied with slight changes. This is pretty different. The whole concept of how it works with the sphere is completely different to the wii's method. The idea was derived from the wii's peripheral but I wouldnt say its a rip off. Lets just see who can do it better now? I must say the move has quite a challenge against the wii's already large and well established library.
Agreed! Totally hilarious. It's a shame that tons of people who watch it won't know anything about Natal, thus will not understand the button reference...they'll probably just think "Wii has buttons.." and scratch their heads.
In MOVE camera placed under TV tracks glowing LEDs in stick you waggle.
In Wii camera inside Wiilot tracks glowing IR LEDs (IR light invisible by naked eye but no different from normal one for camera) placed under TV.
So you swaped placement of detectors and thats makes it not a blatant copy ? You still waggle the stick with accelometers inside. Nothing really changes, you will be playing PFS, party games identically as Wii do...
You're not too smart are you? Judging by your comments, you're an obvious Xbox fanboy therefore your opinions, comments, thoughts, etc are immediately disqualified from the discussion.
Now shut up and maybe next year we'll let you sit at the grown-up table.
Anonim is kinda right, but who cares? Dantes Inferno ripped off God of War, and guess what, its a good thing. The Move is obviously copying the overall general purpose of the Wiimote/Nunchuck, but to avoid patent violation, they had to change a number of things like inputs. As long as they do the same thing, good for them, tho without accelerometers in the "nunchuk' in the Move, it wont quite be the same. I'm still getting it when i get a Ps3 without fail, i'd far prefer the accuracy of Move to Dual-analog!
Move is capable of knowing the holders location in exact 3d space, its capable of body and head tracking , its capable of augmented reality etc etc.. It also has gyros etc which is basically the same tech within six-axis ..
Yeah, it's not fuel for the console war if Sony does it in an ad, right? Then it's all fun and games... even if they're comparing their unreleased, unproven technology to an equally unreleased, unproven technology... and one that has dominated the market from the moment it was available for purchase.
Just because the idea was clearly in design processes in 2004 (or earlier), doesn't mean they still aren't copying Nintendo. The people who designed this weren't copying something that didn't exist yet (as far as they knew, anyway), but Sony is definitely copying it in their implementation.
Meh... I usually laugh at these "Only Does Everything" commercials, but this one was blah compared to, say, the one with Kevin talking about the kid's grandparents chasing a hoop with a stick. Eventually, I just turned on Transcribe Audio and laughed at the horri-bad captions that came from that.
God bless Google... Transcribe Audio makes everything funny!
"its also go what we in the future call buttons. which turns out to be pretty important to those people that enjoy playing shooters and platformers or anything that doesn't involved catching a big red ball....who wants to pretend there hand is a gun? what is this 3rd grade?"
I have bought many games and not many of them are playable or they only have limited appeal. I even bought GTA: Chinatown Wars, which is meant for a touch screen and it was just awful without a D-pad.
Why pretend that your hand is a gun when you can pretend that this handle bar with a glowing ball on the end is a gun instead?
You guys are cracking me up right now - acting like one form of pretend is better than another. That's the bread and butter of a typical fanboy argument.
This commercial clearly calls out all microsoft fanboys / shills.. Its a joke, its meant to be funny stop acting so hurt its meant to make you laugh..
As for the dildo comments:
Bananas can also be likened to a dildo, do you go into a supermarket and to the fruits section and start pointing at the bananas and shouting tee hee hee thats a dildo tee hee hee.. Do you point and laugh at anyone eating a banana and shout tee hee hee your eating a dildo your sucking on a dildo tee hee hee ?
I think that the commercial is hilarious and sony has hit the jackpot with this add campaign. It will definitely sell a ton of consoles(not trying to be a fanboy)
