Are some of your arguments against Extremus REALLY that being left-handed shouldn't be catered for in this day and age because the game is 10 years old? That ranks up there with the stupidest things I have ever read. In fact, anyone telling Extremus to "get over it" or whatEVER should probably just go kill themselves for being so dumb.

bit size version: xbla PD should have button mapping. There is no excuse. Anyone saying different should try playing a left handed control scheme on any of their games and really see if it is possible to "get over it". You people deserve to be shot, at least in the leg.

So how does multiplayer online work? Can we choose the weapons and can bots play?

Only four bots. The N64 had al lot more at once. So much for this release being "enhanced" in so many ways. Thanks for nothing, Rare.

I like how you've found one thing that isn't quite the same and used it as a basis to complain about the entire product. That makes sense.

See the above comment to know why I'm REALLY miffed, then. The lack of Southpaw basically renders the game unplayable for me, and I don't have the time to waste learning to adjust against competition who already have the "home field advantage". Like I said, this release may be high-def and prettied up, but underneath it's been neutered big-time. If you were a southpaw my bet is you'd be complaining, too. You all would.

"and hooked it up to my high-def TV. It was nauseating."

Ok. While you're at it, why don't you go and play some Game Boy Color games on a 200-inch HD projector screen.

Of course you wouldn't, and the reason is obvious. It's not the game that's the problem, it's how you're treating it. GBC games need to be played on a tiny square screen, and they'll look great (Oracle Zelda games anyone?). N64 games need to be played on a nice old CRT TV, preferably small-ish. Give old games the respect they deserve, and you'll get much in return.

"Our memory has its way of up-ressing our past experiences"

What a great line...even applied outside of video games.

So much of this article embodies so much that I hate about modern gaming.

Don't worry, Mr. Wiley, it's not your fault.

You know I never played the original yet I did play Goldeneye. This is fantastic, been needing some old school fps love ever since I got stuck with Doom on Nightmare mode. Ok that's a lie, I always played Duke Nukem 3D.

No button mapping. Inexcusable.

Have you ever played a console shooter? How many console shooters have button mapping?

Maybe not %100 mappable. But the fact that there is not even a southpaw configuration is just ridiculous. I should have used the word custom configurations, my bad. Or even just configuration.

The nostalgia effect is set to 11 with this one but I think I am going to pass. I had forgotten just how floaty and imprecise the aiming in this game was. If they would have fixed that I would probably be down for this, but as it stands it really bugs the crap out of me now. I used to be the king of head-shots and shooting the guns out of the hands of enemies in this game and now I just don't know how I managed to pull it off at all.

Still just remembering all the great stuff about this game makes me tempted to get it. It was so cool how some of the missions would alter based on the difficulty setting (such as starting as either the sniper or the negotiator in Carrington's Villa). This game completely remade in a modern engine would be really awesome. Was really disappointed with Perfect Dark Zero (and pretty much everything else Rare has made this generation).

Is it wrong that this port made me wanna play my N64 version, not because it was some good nostalgia, but because the 360 controls are HORRID?!?

Call me old fashion, but I love having forward/back and turn on one stick and look up/down and strafe on the other stick (ok...N64 had C buttons but still!). These wannabe mouse and keyboard controls don't cut it for me...

Still, a good 10 dollar investment (though it's the fourth fps on my 360...:l)

It was so close to being a must buy...unfortunately there is no southpaw control style, which even the N64 version had. Removing a feature from the original that wouldnt have been hard to incorporate = epic fail 4j
