Sure, Heavy Rain was great, but what was with all the story? Don't you just wish someone would come along, strip out that cinematic nonsense and leave only the visceral thrill of repeatedly calling for your missing son while tearing through a shopping mall?
For you, there's Press X to Jason, a low-rez action/puzzle/platformer/adventure from Heavy.com that nails just one mechanic: Yelling for Jason. [Fair warning: If you don't know how this particular Heavy Rain scene plays out, like, in the real game, you may not want to play Press X to Jason just yet.]
If afterwards you still aren't sure about little Jason's fate, you'll be happy to know that we've located him, and he's on Twitter.
[Thanks, Wez]

There is an achievement for saving him? That's odd, considering that the entire plot of the game revolves around the fact that *spoilers people, do not read past this* Jason is killed by a car, and that Ethan Mars can't get over it.

there's an achievement in Press X to Jason, not the actual game

That's probably the one part of Heavy Rain that I try to block out of my head. Not because it was emotional or anything like that, but because the voice acting was so atrocious.

That's the one part where the voice acting literally assaulted me sonically with how bad it was. The voice acting is pretty bad over all, but nothing was worse than the ridiculously emotionless "ethannnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!!" coming out of that voice actors mouth. It was the definition of a line reading.

I love Yvonne Strahovski in a bra more. It's a shame that Chuck's ratings are circling the toilet now.

@ShadowXOR: You should see her when I invite her up to my cabin. Her dad's money was well spent, in all the right places.
@BananaBoat: Girl on girl action is what Kelly is for. Embrace the redhead, BB, for she was apparently a part time stripper through college.

Call me an intergalactic prude, but that really sours the whole deal. She probably has all sort of alien STD's.

You mean like varren scale itch? Also, Chuck's ratings are bad?! NOOOOOOOOOO! Where will I get my Adam Baldwin fix now?!

Chuck was at a 2.5-2.6 share a week or two ago, and now it's at 1.9. It's hard to say exactly what that means (ratings are...ehh...an odd science) but the long and the short of it is that the show is almost certainly going to be renewed at 2.5-2.6, and almost certainly not going to be at 1.9.
The moral of the story is...WATCH CHUCK YOU NIELSEN BASTARDS!!!

So yeah that scene was one of the few lows points in the game in terms of voice acting. Makes for a great podcast joke though.

SPOILERS AHOY!
As much as I like Heavy Rain, this scene is the only one that just seemed odd to me. It wasn't the voice acting, I got used to that pretty quickly, but the fact that the kid crossed the street for no god damn reason. When your dad says "stay here" you should stay there and not run off after...something!

He was showing off his fancy red balloon... Duh...
The biggest problems with the kids I had was that they acted more like 5 years old and not 10...

That kind of took me out of the game as well. The stupid kid ran away from him not once, but twice. How do you let a kid run away from you twice in one day? That fact alone made it hard for me to feel sorry for him at all.
The later logical fallacies (*spoilers* the entire typewriter/clock shop scene....don't get me started *spoilers*) inevitably took the game down a few pegs for me, but it's definitely a great game despise semi-bad writing and hit or miss voice acting.

It was the clown. The kid was running from the clown. On a terror scale of 1-10, we all know clowns are 10. Getting run over by a car is 8, and spanking from Dad is a 4.

I haven't played Heavy Rain yet, and intend to.
However, I've heard this now-qualified-as-a-meme so many times that I doubt it would have a negative impact on my experience.
ALSO, from what I've seen of Heavy Rain (trailers, etc), I totally agree that the voice actors are usually sub-par. I mean, half of your game is voice-oriented; make sure they're good, dammit!
