(spoiler alert maybe)

I'm gonna say DLC.

My reasoning is that knowing what is seen after the credits roll once you beat the game, the rain and water is very suggestive of that scene. This is perhaps hinting at what happened after that moment after the credits.

the lambda is just recognition of how ridiculously gay the spartans were.

It could be the PS Move symbol, motion control anyone?

I think I would actually buy the Move if this was announced

I thought Chains of Olympus was revealed on the back of the God of War II instruction manual? It wasn't named then of course, but still my point stands.

GOW 3 was the 5th game in the cronological order... there was a mobile version of the game, called God of War: Betrayal, it starts right where God Of Wa I finishes...
wikipedia says that the Lambda sign means "Half-Life" in nuclear physic.
btw, thats just a suggestion...

Not that anyone is reading this thread anymore but I know what that brings to mind for me: the Teiwaz. The viking rune for the Norse god Tyr, the blacksmith of the Norse gods and the god of warriors and victory. Now while the Teiwaz is usually drawn out as an arrow pointing up the vikings would just inscribe it on their shields as just an upside down V. It was inscribed to ensure victory in battle.

Tyr is also usually compared to Ares in mythology.

Maybe a reflection in the water will show up. I hope its for DLC and not a new PSP game, but I would still be ok with that.

Maybe the red bar is the amount of blood spilled by GoWIII players on PSN?

I'd say it's got something to do with the moon phase, it's currently 24% (as shown on the website). Next full moon/100% is 30th of March.

That's the best I can think of.

Ah, not familiar with Greek war insignias. Found this on Spartan reenactments:

Shields:
* All Spartan re-enactor's shields will be "bronze" shields - (painted bronze or gold-- well polished bronze is the same color as gold).
* The shields will have the unit badge painted on the lower half, leaving room for the Lambda when the individual has earned it.
* Those who have fought at a "foreign war" (outside of their region) may paint a 4" red border around their shield.
* Those who have reached Spartiate class may paint a Lambda on the center of their shield, along with the red border and unit badge.

I'm still going with a viking invasion though. The Goths have to take Rome sometime...

I think its the 40 days/40 nights of rain. Because the game has been out for 10 days already...and 4 sections of 10 is 40. Plus they say in the bible after the 40 days and 40 nights of rain the earth will be reborn. And Kratos practically destroyed the earth. So we may be looking at a new path Kratos may be on after his vengence has been satisfied.

Also I don't think that its raining more. I think that its zooming in on something as more players get platinums for the game. As soon as the silver portion of that meter disappears it will reveal something.

SPOILER ALERT (if you are just starting the game)

its gotta be 1 of 2 things
1-kratos lives- and an add on cuz yea after the credits end you can see as clear as the water that kratos is no longer in there
2-new game- featuring kratos brother remember in the second fight w/ zeus when gaia re-apears the old man says "your pawn has failed you gaia, perhaps you should have chosen the other one" this makes reference to kratos` brother
(its obvious) one way or another its gotta be amazing besides we have all seen kratos die and coming back to hell to know GOW 3 cannot end the way it does

It's raining, and its showing the ocean.

The sheild is now half full, my guess this is dependant on the amount of people who have attained the platinum trophy.

As as far as the "upside-down V" goes, my guess is that its is actually a "right-side up A" and stands for Atlantis...there being the ocean and all. I do remember something about it becoming submerged, the glowing part of the water, and there being no cause for it. Maybe it was all due to Kratos's meddling with the gods.

Hm, food for thought...

Ok... this whole "V" thing is starting to annoy me... has anyone in their entire life seen a Spartan shield? it has an "upside down V" on it... Seriously... and having a 5th god of war game would be interesting. it is obviously going to happen. Not only was the ending to 3 a huge cliff hanger (no pun intended) but they still havent shown Kratos' brother in any of the god of wars except the video from the first... C'mon Santa monica studios. Bring Kratos' brother out of the darkness!

It's not an upside-down V. That's the greek letter Lambda. On Spartan shields it stood for Lakedaimon, the region in which Sparta is located.

Whatever it is, if it has "God of War" and "Playstation" in the cover, I'll buy it.
