If you've waited this long for Episodes from Liberty City, another two weeks shouldn't hurt, right? Rockstar Games has pushed back the PS3 and PC releases of the long-awaited Grand Theft Auto IV expansions by two weeks due to "a request by Sony Europe to make some minor content changes to the PAL PS3 version of the game." According to the press release, "the minor changes made to the game will not affect the gamers enjoyment of the games, these will not affect any gameplay elements and were not related to any local ratings requirements."
All versions of the add-ons -- including the downloadable episodes "The Lost & Damned" and "The Ballad of Gay Tony" -- have been delayed to April 13th for North America, and April 16th for all other countries. A Rockstar Games blog post further elaborated on the decision to do a global delay, ensuring that "everyone can experience multiplayer simultaneously, take part in online events together, be on level ground on leaderboards, etc."

Just be grateful they brought it at all, I always had my faith but man, it was a while there I thought they had moved on.
PC's case, the later it is delayed the better it is.

Perhaps the changes that Rockstar wanted to make in the Playstation version will effect the localization of the game and so they wanted to synchronize the changes that were made to the PC version. Though as someone already mentioned, 2 more weeks of waiting for these expansions is nothing compared to the total time its taken overall.

I remember you saying that you're waiting for Valve to release Half-Life 2: Episode 3.

Wikipedia disagrees
"Half-Life 2: Episode One is the first in a trilogy of episodes that serve as the sequel for the 2004 first-person shooter video game Half-Life 2."
Those episodes are true sequels in my eyes, not some expansions. Btw, doesn't expansions require the original game to be playable? Thats not the case with the HL2 episodes..

They are expansions, and were marketed as expansions. Episode 1 is what, 4 hours long? 2 is like 6?
You can think of them as sequels all you want, but you'd be wrong.

I'm not very familiar with Valve, but I don't think you need Half-Life 2 to play any of the half life games. It's not an expansion if it doesn't expand on anything. (Correct me if I'm wrong about Half-Life episode requirements)

The "trilogy of episodes" (expansions, DLC, however you want to parse that) serves as the sequel to Half-Life 2.

What do they mean wanting to do a global release so Europeans don't miss out on multiplayer 2 weeks later than everyone else.
What about so many other multiplayer games or games with multiplayer modes not having simultaneous releases worldwide?
Can't believe Sony Europe would ruin it for the rest of us.

I know a lot of people probably don't care about this because the game is so old now, but I love GTAIV and have been waiting to play these episodes for a long time. This two week delay is very disappointing for me..

I was just playing GTA IV actually, and yes, it is very fun. I've never seen another franchise that lets you *flawlessly* throw grenades at the police. One of the reasons my whole family likes it.

Maybe they're adding a few goodies... isn't that how things usually go? Release exclusive game/content for 360, wait 1-2 years, release same thing for PS3 but with more content (BioShock, Lost Planet, Star Ocean 4), better graphics (Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2), new features (Tales of Vesperia), etc.?

Its just harmless speculation. Besides, whose to say something hasn't been in the works for weeks or months prior and they're just now announcing a delay. On the flip side, it could be nothing more than fine-tuning the DLC to avoid commonplace problems found with 360 DLC releases (like Fallout 3, GTAIV, DA:O Awakening).

I wonder if this game will have it's own Platinum, or if it will just add on to GTAIV's trophy list. I'mthinking it's most likely the latter...

That's actually a very good question, because the DLC might not add platinums (maybe you might get only 1).
Also, trophies are mandatory, and so are platinums (I think, i'm not sure).

I'm still waiting on Rockstar to fix the trophy-server bug in the original GTA IV. They actually expect you to win all 108 game modes (including races and GTA races) WITHOUT DISCONNECTING just for that "Auf Wiedersehen" Bronze.
