Uh, I don't know about you, but my idea of Halo Heaven involves the ability to play matchmaking when I have friends over. If combining ranked and social means removing guests online, I'll stick with Halo 3.

Excellent comment. Well thought out, well written. It raises several questions that I had not considered before. Bravo, sir.

Indeed quite a thought provoking comment that shows your exuberance from this information. We can already see how ecstatic you are about this and ready for this game to be released.

Yeah it seems like a nice little feature. That whole player detail page just sounds nice.

I like the voting feature a lot. After years of playing any multiplayer game, joining crappy servers and games have gotten, well...crappy.

That's not to say players will flat-out abuse this feature, though.

I'm not so sure about that. If this were around in halo 2 we would have endless swords on lockout.

That's true. But then again...your example of everyone using swords...is that necessarily a bad thing?

Using Halo 3 as an example (since I haven't played any Reach maps) I can only see this being used two ways:

Avoiding Snowbound like the black plague... and making sure that Guardian\Pit\Construct are the only maps ever played.

But that's just if it were in Halo 3.

yeah, i'm not sure i like this. i don't really like the veto feature in halo 3 either. it reduces variety in games because a lot of people instantly veto a lot of maps/gametypes. i don't understand why it seems that people want to play the same 3 maps over and over. i mean The Pit is a great map, but i like to play other maps once in a while.

I don't see why everyone thinks that with a voting feature like this we'll get stuck playing the same games/maps over and over. My experience has been that with every game comes a new group of people who seem to vote differently than the last group.

They added it after all the rage-quitting in Halo 2. I really think it decreased the number of players that quit as soon as the game started.

Bro, some of the achievements on that are a BITCH.
I remember gaming sessions of 2.5 hours straight that ended with a dead team the wave before we got the achievement.

Im gonna have to get my disk back from the neighbours.

Everytime I think that Bungie has ran out of ideas...they surprise me. The vote feature sounds a very nice addition.

Reach is shaping up to be a very good game. Definitely interested in this one.

I have been with halo from the beginning including gamespy tunnel for halo 1 and the only thing that can save this game is dedicated servers and a game server list.

But instead of making real changes they add more lag inducing features like jetpacks. gag me.

How about you wait until the Beta to start blaming lag on jetpacks, eh, champ?

And no, a dedicated server list would be terrible. Halo has always been about matchmaking. I like getting to play every map. Rainbow Six is 95% one map because of the dedicated server lists.

Halos 1 and 2 have been out for the PC for a while now, you know.

In all honesty, I don't think a whole lot can be done to save Halo's multiplayer, save for a required personality quiz before you can play online.

"A teammate has just picked up a weapon you want. Is it okay to kill your teammate to obtain the weapon?"

ah, yes, the last rebellion. the jrpg that, after about 4 years worth of mediocre rpgs on current gen consoles, comes along and manages to make them all look like GOTYs. the game with a 47 metascore on critic. the game that IGN said (and rightfully so) "doesn't need to exist."

yeah, i definitely need me some of that.
