As the trailer above shows, Puzzle Quest 2 features an entirely new storyline, so we'll get to meet new characters just as memorable as whoever it was we were playing as between rounds of the puzzle game last time.
Puzzle Quest 2 trailer is a real gem

YES! This game rules!
The only thing I'm puzzled about (get it?) is the art. I really thought they would have made enough money from PQ1 to get better art.
But whatever, the game is awesome, can't wait to play it!

when the game is matching up stuff that isn't even on the screen, there's not alot you can do. I had completed the main game, got to level 50, and since lost my save, I have the dlc for it, So I play occassionly to work towards getting to where I can play the dlc.. guess the only way to 'get better' is to grind by buy stats. It's much better game against actual people, but that get's no one anywhere in the campaign mode

I agree about the cheating. I didn't bother with Galactrix either because, while the devs said in their own forum that the CPU doesn't cheat, it clearly did. I gave up near the end. Nothing is worth being destroyed that unfairly. There's a big difference between difficult and cheat. Besides a better CPU, I'd like to see some online play for the DS version.

A.I. DOES NOT cheat.
It is also really really lousy (even on Hard as it changed mostly % bonuses that CPU gets for resistances and chances of extra turn - NOTHING else...) in Puzzle Quest , and even more pathetic in Galaxy Quest (and there is no Hard mode either)
if you spot how really basic analysis of field CPU does you can kill CPU oponnents with incredible ease.

The art direction this time around is so lame... Think I'll probably wait for Gyromancer.

I'm going to have to see some really positive press on this one when it releases, after feeling burned by Galactrix. It just didn't have that special chemistry that made PQ1 so awesome.
And all you complaining about the computer cheating are just whining.

Personally, I loved Galactrix... at least the core gameplay. I think the over world had a lot of useless mechanics and moving around was painfully slow... but otherwise, great game. I'd have a 100% on it if anyone online would dare challenge my giant sphere of death... but they always quit on me two turns in...
What does kind of concern me is the walking around part of this game... I wonder how that's going to play. If it's good, it's gonna be a great addition... if it's done poorly, like the over world for Galactrix, it's going to really make it hard to muscle through it.

There is "Comprehensive Balance Mod" - PC fan mod that makes what developers didn't.
The game is MUCH better with it.

0:24 in the trailer looks like Kratos' ugly long lost brother.

Puzzle Quest 1 was rather fun, I thought. Didn't like the blacksmithing portion. I'd complain more about that but after loads and loads of tries everything just sort of fell into place.

The graphics do seem a bit...ehhhh...but the same tried and true gameplay with a few minor additions and tweaks will probably still be as addictive as the first one...
