Although Aliens vs Predator has been deemed successful, Rebellion has been forced to swing the axe. A report from Develop claims that Rebellion's Derby office has closed its doors and that several positions at the home office in Oxford, UK have also been eliminated -- something we heard murmurs of back on March 10.
There are no exact figures on how many Oxford employees were handed pink slips, though a Rebellion spokesperson told Develop "a few staff in junior positions had been let go." Our hearts go out to the recently unemployed and, as always, if there's anything you'd like to add to the story, feel free to let us know.

People always told me, be careful what you do,
don't go 'round working for game companies,
...heeeeeeeeee...eaaaa...
and mother always told me, to get a real job,
be careful what you, because the economy isn't good
My son says he's a game designer
He's just a bum, that lives in my basement
But I still have faith in him

So, in another post, Gamestop is making zillions selling games, but the people who makes them, is closing studios and firing employees all over the place....
Something is not right, I think...
Maybe one day we will only see Gamestop and Game making, er, games?

My heart goes out to them. Too many of us have lost our jobs this year. More than half the people I know in the industry have either had to move to new companies or are out of jobs entirely.
