If anyone can make good motion games, it's Sega.

You're bringing up something from 1993. That is not a fair argument. Sega has come a long way. Every console developer had it's horrid peripherals and systems. They've learned from those mistakes. Besides they are developing FOR already made motion controls. Not developing their own. Such a great argument you have there.

So... if you take the speculation, the "maybes" and "probablys", we know that Sega made a prototype of a Natal game playable at E3.

Joystiq could create a "quickies" area for those one-sentence news, instead of being, huh... creative.

i think nick arcade was the first game to do stuff like this remember when the winning team was inside of a game in the final round. That is what this basicly is not to high tech if you think of it

At first I read Super Star Wars' in there for some reason.

What's with me? I thought the Fable 3 screen looked like Anakin and Obi Wan and now this?

"the EyeToy, which happens to be a direct descendent of the Move's PlayStation Eye camera"

So the EyeToy way a time-travelling peripheral from the future? Interesting.

Too bad anything from sega will have 1/3 of the content stripped out before it makes it to US shores or be released during the same week as other blockbuster titles

I thought for a second that a proper Space Channel 5 was going to Natal, despite the fact that that's another franchise that's been begging Sega for a Wii revival (after Samba, NiGHTS, and House of the Dead)

Yeah I'm trying to really figure what Natal is going to revolutionize that tossing a camera on the Wii with a bit of support software wouldn't do ?

Its supposedly sporting facial recognition .... and what camera worth its salt doesn't have that in spades, but it can detect facial expression ..... again I say decent cameras can detect if the subject is smiling or not so .....

And the Sony move (blegh horrible name) just uses camera based motion tracking of colored balls which has been around for years and years only on a larger scale in the Mocap industry (see guy in black suit with white pingpong balls appended)

The whole get active with the game is the Wii's schtic and I'm hard pressed to see anything that will come from the Natal or the *shudders* move that without first party support, isn't going to simply be something needlessly tacked onto an existing game or the encroaching onslaught of PS360 shovelware.

Because implementing these technologies is stupid easy ......while implementing them well and in a meaningful manner that furthers the immersive experience of your game is costly and time consuming. Which is why most third party companies don't bother with things like this .....

You really have a problem with the name "move". Maybe you should relax a bit. It's a great name. Natal is kinda in line with the kind of person who would like Halo, and Wii is in line with the kind of person who would like Mario, but those names aren't exactly setting records for cleverness.

Sony's interested in being more direct in marketing. This will let dumb people realize this controller is about moving. That's a good thing.

So stop shuddering and freaking out. Also, while there will be a lot of shovelware, don't write off all of these because the other isn't up to snuff.

Since you can use objects with Natal, I would expect (and hope for) Samba de Amigo with real maracas.

Sometimes i wonder, WHO THE HELL PLAYS SAMBA WITH MARACAS?
:)

Never seen, never heard maracas on Samba. Well, at least not in Rio de Janeiro.

I know it is off-topic. But I had to rant a bit.
