Mass Effect 2 'Alternate Appearance Pack' DLC adds new costumes

According to BioWare, an upcoming DLC pack for Mass Effect 2 -- the Alternate Appearance Pack -- will feature new outfits for "your favorite squad members." Apparently, you don't like Miranda, Jacob, Grunt or Mordin, because this pack includes new costumes for Garrus, Thane, and Jack.

While these new outfits seem like an appropriate fit for the Cerberus Network, this is actually the second announced premium DLC offering for Mass Effect 2. Available on March 23rd, the pack will set you back $2 on Xbox 360 or PC. Let's hope the upcoming Kasumi's Stolen Memories add-on will be a bit more reasonably priced than these costumes.

I am so ashamed of my imperial officer outfit, but it's cheaper than buying a real one off ebay and enough to satisfy me.

I see absolutely no problems with this. This is what I've always wanted out of DLC. So far, all the free DLC has had an effect on how we play the game. Meanwhile, for the DLC that just affects appearance, people who want it, can buy it. Free game play DLC = good. Low cost appearance DLC = fine with me.

Although the issue of the alternative costumes looking decent is a separate issue altogether.

*sigh* paid DLC continues to a circus. Apparently I'm the only one that genuinely feels that way though, since there must be enough people who pay for this crap to make it worthwhile for them to release.

Even the in game unlocked alternate costumes were disappointing. What for everyone but Jack it was just a new color scheme, and even she just got a vest?

These are just another color scheme +glasses. Easy payday for Bioware off of the fanboys I suppose.

I know I'm in the minority, but I was PRAYING for Jack's loyalty outfit to have some coverage. I know her original outfit wasn't designed with me in mind, since I'm a girl and I'm straight, but three straps and some tape do not a bra make. Girl needed some support. That's the real reason she was so grumpy. I missed the tattoos, though. They were very cool. I just couldn't stand throwing her at the Collectors, you know, naked.

You do realize your protecting a woman who tells you "F**k off!" everytime she's done talking to you. She seems like a tough chick.. Naked or no, I think she can handle her own.

Can we get some extra appearances for Jack where she isn't an ugly G.I. Jane, disturbed little girl with scissors butchered barbie doll? I found her to be the least interesting, most predictable character in the game.

I feel like Will Ferrell in Step Brothers after he found out he wasnt going on the boat, Derek was selling the house, and he had to go to therapy?

What a strange thing to charge for when they are offering actual *good* DLC for free. I suppose I shouldn't complain, these look stupid anyways :P

Think of it this way, $2 is a cheap repair to Garrus's armor.

I'd like to thank bioware for not making cool costumes for Miranda, Grunt and Mordin since those are my favorite characters in the game and now I won't be tempted to buy these silly things.

I never use any of these characters when I play the game minus their loyalty missions. But for some reason I am tempted to get this even though I never really buy any DLC at all. Plus I would do anything to cover up Jack's dreadful body.

2$ may not seem like much... I mean it really isn't. But seriously? 3 outfits that have zero impact on the game, the story, not to mention the lack of screen time these npc's get AFTER you unlock their loyalty to the point that you're even ALLOWED to change their outfit. The stock outfits were meh, the unlocked ones were garbage, I didn't even see them after i selected them, completely unmemorable feature of the game. Maybe if they came in and danced around on screen while you were doing that god awful boring as hell planet scanning crap it would be worth it.

it's not that 2$ matters, it's just that I would get so much more satisfaction buying 2$ worth of stickers, or a pad of post-it notes and drawing little animations of me setting 2$ on fire, or even setting 2$ on fire.

You know I'm sure that you don't need to do the loyalty missions for these three. just saying.

For a sec it looked like Jack had Duct Tape over her eyes. If it did not have that weird visor (which does not fit Jacks personality at all imo) I'd get it for sure. Way better than her other tasteless costumes, Just wish that stupid visor was taken off.

its obvious bioware is releasing this costume pack because they know they royally screwed up by not giving Garrus the option to have fixed armor

Are people seriously complaining about this small fee for outfits? If the $2 is hurting you that bad, check the couch and under the car seats, your bound to happen accross $2 jezzz......

Anyway...I love the Jack and Garrus outfits. But really with the Thane outfit....really? How does Thane strike anyone as the 'cool sunglasses' type.

I'll get it for the Jack and Garrus outfits, but they can keep the sunglasses for Thane.

Except... it doesn't work like that. You can't buy "two dollars" worth of Microsoft Points. Lowest amount is 500 points, and that requires a credit card. Without a credit card, lowest you can buy is $20 worth.

Probably took someones coffe break to make these.

And yeah, horse armour round 2. I love the game, and I'll snap up the DLC, but not this. Same went for Oblivion, where I have everything aside from the horse armour (I'm not just amazed people bought it, but how many did...).

Bah, beaten to the Geordi gag. Thought everyone would be too young to remember him...

The Mass Effect fanboy inside me is drowning out my common sense by screaming "BUY THIS YOU SHIT".

So... it's Matrix sunglasses DLC.

Because we all want to relive the 90's.
