Rockstar sent along videos showcasing each of the Red Dead Redemption pre-orders currently available, and we just can't decide which one to go with -- they all look so good. You can see all three of them over on the game's website. Pre-ordering from Amazon, you'll remember, will get you a Golden Guns pack, pre-ordering the game at GameStop will nab you the fan-selected Deadly Assassin Outfit and ordering the game from Best Buy will get you the War Horse, which you can see in the video above.
Wait a minute -- we just decided. We're totally going with the horsie. His name will be Roger and we will hug him and feed him and dodge explosions and shoot bad guys from his back and it will be the awesomest. Roger is the best horse ever. He's tougher than any other horse!

Horse looks like the best one. I pre-ordered at Amazon.ca, I probably won't get any bonuses from there but it's $10 cheaper than everywhere else right now plus free $10 credit after purchase.

yeah I'm with you on this one. not only is it $56.99 with no tax and free shipping, they throw in a $10 gift card! If I pick this up at best buy or game stop I'm looking at $65 after tax!
on top of that I already have $30 in amazon credit from previous purchases.
I'll gladly pass on this horse for the chance to pay $26.99 for this game and $46.99 for my next new game.
anymore, it's like every 5th game I buy at amazon is free, considering the free credit, shipping, and no tax.

@ Deaddy their's $10 credit for the Canadian Amazon website now ? i thought it was American Only cause i looked on amazon.ca and it mentions nothing about $10 credits for pre-orders like.com does.

HardBoiled, I checked last night and they still had the free $10, however the price has gone up to $69.99. When I pre-ordered it was $59.99.

The Amazon one, you almost need for the extra missions, right? (unless they're lame).
My personal preference would be the horse, outside of the extra missions consideration.
Easy solution: pre-order from Amazon, Best Buy, and Gamestop, but later do returns to Best Buy and Gamestop after the Amazon.com arrives via free shipping.
These !@#$!@#%^ pre-order bonuses are out of control. -_-

Same deal in the UK, you can buy the Limited Edition for £10 more and get all this content and the soundtrack.
I'd be totally opposed to paying more for content that could have been in the game by default, but some places are selling it for the same price as the regular version, so I'm not complaining. But I really feel that ingame items shouldn't = more expensive LE.
Maybe it's because of the soundtrack, but I'm betting that's digital too, and I'm assuming the horses don't have an 80's station.

I wonder what the T-Shirt looks like when you order from the Rockstar Warehouse. There wasn't a picture on the page for it.

I think he probably means that this isn't a sequel or another iteration of a well-known title: the general, average gaming public who walk in off the street to browse shelves for games probably wouldn't know much about it... but when they play it, word will probably spread, making it a real hit. Similar to Borderlands (although that's probably not the best comparison lol)
I think we all tend to forget that only a *portion* of the game buying community is actually made up of gamers who are "in the know." Just my two cents...

This is such BS. I'm already sick of the different pre-order options from different retailers. Just Cause 2 did the same thing. Not only that, but they took features out of the 360 version to keep them exclusive to the PS3 version. Guess what? I won't be buying either of these games now because of this marketing crap!

I agree. But I think there should be more of an 'all or nothing' situation with preorders, not this splitting them up so that you have to pick one over another. Why would a company want to make the decision to buy a game even more difficult by adding another layer of 'which version should I buy' instead of just 'should I buy this?'
I think pre orders were originally kind of a cool way to reward someone for putting down a couple of bucks on a game months before it was released (thereby giving the retailer a small interest free loan), but now they've just turned into some weird marketing scheme that makes me annoyed.
I *know* I don't have to preorder (and I don't) but I still have the right to think it's stupid!

Does R* have a problem with Gamestop? I'd imagine that since their stock is worth like half of what it was 2 years ago, they're not really in the position to bite any of the hands that are currently feeding them.
