In a recent interview with CVG, Sega West president Mike Hayes spoke briefly on the future of the company's portfolio of intellectual properties. Hayes explained, "If you think about it, we can sequel-ise Bayonetta, AvP, Alpha Protocol and we can make a hit of something like Vanquish." Those are some mighty bold plans, considering only two of those games have actually been released.
We're fairly unsurprised by Sega's interest in a follow-up to Bayonetta. Not only because it's been a commercial success for the company, but also because the developers need another chance to do all the crazy action sequences they couldn't fit in the first game. Like, for instance, throwing a church at a dragon. Wait, they did that in Bayonetta? How about riding a motorcycle in space? Really, that too? Well, then ... we're stumped.

I'm confused because you didn't specify on where exactly you went. :[

If it wasn't for Sega we wouldn't have a lot of the properties around that are doing so well today. For example, Yakuza, and the amazing Rez. Sorry but your comments a little too harsh of criticism. I won't disagree they have ruined some things, but they have also brought us great things.

Yeah that's why I said I wouldn't disagree with you to some extent. There's a lot of properties just waiting to be big hits. Though Sega has come a far way. Maybe they just smoked a lot of weed and forgot about some of the good stuff.

Hooray for corporate buzz words! I think they should use a cross functional team to brain dump some bleeding edge action items outside the box.

Bayonetta should get a sequel. It is a better game than God of War 2.5.

I think you'd make a great casting choice for Mean Girls 2.

Infinite Space (DS) just came out. All that's left is Vanquish which we haven't heard much about yet. Considering they've put out 2 solid titles, 1 possibly good title, and a very intriguing 4th title coming, I think they should get more development.

It was touched upon briefly that the director of Bayonetta would like to make a spin off of Bayonetta, given the chance. Perhaps with Jeanne in it instead? Since she turned out much cooler than expected in the design stages of development.
I for one would love to have Cutie J in her own starring role!

I would love for Platinum Games to release a sequel to Bayonetta. That was one of the best action games I ever played and the bosses were amazing.

Can we also expect the return of 6 second of loading times for every item you pick up and pressing the start button?

By Sony. Not by Platinum Games, not by Sega, but someone else.
Do you really feel good about yourself calling others tools? I thought so.

That was only in the PS3 version. They just need to do a better job porting it over this time.
Or you could, you know...buy the 360 version.

Or they could, you know...not bother making a PS3 version. Yes, I know "EXCLUSIVITY IS A SIN DON'T MAKE NO MO MONEY".

If there will be a Bayonetta 2, maybe this will be the first sequel game that Hideki Kamiya stays around for. He kind of follows a recurring theme where he only does the first game, and then moves on to something else. It would be nice to see him do a sequel to one of his games for once.

Don't you need to first release a game before making a sequel? I'm looking at you, Alpha Protocol...
