Everyone loved push push from GH2, and it was only 80 points, so its easy to see why its on top.

hmm. I've only heard of one of those songs on that list, and its because it was in GH1. Great to see small, near no name bands are getting reps on RBN. I guess it's the new MySpace Music.

You never heard Semi-Charmed Life? Where were you in the 90's?

Anyway, nice to see JoCo take 4 spots in the top 20. Go JoCo!

Between this and having my friend sing the chorus at me repeatedly during Halo 3 last night, I finally checked out Code Monkey. Why I'm resistant to JoCo songs, I'll never now.

Glad to see some 3eb hitting rock band, though I'm slightly disappointed that it's re-recorded and not the original. Can't believe some people here have never heard of them... must have been living in a cave in the 90's, they're probably the most mainstream band of any listed here. Or they're just really young; last 3eb concert I went to was packed with 18 year olds who couldn't have been older than 5 or 6 back when 3eb was popular.

Attack Attack! was put on Rock Band? Senses Fail?? Since when?

Sorry Final Fantasy, you're gonna have to take a quick breather while I get my AA! fix...

It's Rock Band Network, which has been live since the beginning of the month.

Also, like Xbox Live Indie Games, there is no scheduled release day, like normal DLC/Arcade games. Whenever the song gets approved, it's put up on RBN.

Yea, as I loaded up the Music Store, I couldn't find it, so I figured it was in-game only. Found an ADTR song that I missed, too.

Screw that.

90% of my DLC is metal, because those are the songs that are the most intensive to play. Longer it takes to master the song means the replay value is increased many times. Also, metal is damn good ;)

Now that we have RBN, we're gonna play even more metal. I'm expecting Animals As Leaders and The Black Dahlia Murder to both show up in playtesting in the next few months, and hopefully Nuclear Blast Records puts more songs up so we can get Death, Decrepit Birth, Guardian Knot and more.

Oh Rock Band Network, how I love you.

See, I play good songs, I could care less about the difficulty.

Some of those good songs are metal, some (most) of them are not. And, let's face it, there's a lot of shitty metal out there.

Oh well, I'm just waiting for the Aquabats to be put up on the Store/Network. Then I can die happy.

There is a lot of shitty metal out there, but I barely even consider Metalcore metal.

Metal is my favorite genre, so of course I play pretty much only metal.

@ Peter Moore:
Forgive me, what I meant is I download hard, good songs. My priority (now anyway) is to download songs that push the limit. I'll download a song like still alive because it's free (and awesome) but honestly I would not pay for it because it's boring as hell to play an easy song after a while.

I have around 100 DLC, most of which is metal, and there are only a select few songs which I may have gone back on downloading, they're all pretty much good songs, I play at least half of them regularly. Artists like All That Remains, MegaDeth, Avenged Sevenfold, Lamb of God, Devildriver, Dream Theater, Slayer, Job For A Cowboy, Black Daliea Murder, Ministry, Iron Maiden, God Forbid, Metallica (lol good OLD songs). Non metal songs are Hysteria (more Muse Hmx) some Gorillaz for people who dont fancy hard songs, good old Rush, Tenacious D

I do not agree with the statement that most of the metal songs are shitty.

Up yours.

@ OP - Honestly, I see metal (and any branch of it, be it metalcore, mathcore, post-hardcore, etc, etc) as the smallest genre on any music game, simply because people can't stand having their eardrums raped by pure awesome.

Given that, don't be surprised when someone gets all giddy when their favorite metal band (again, whatever form of metal it may be) appears on Rock Band or Guitar Hero. I shat bricks when The Devil Wears Prada and A Day to Remember both appeared as DLC under that Warped Tour pack (I actually played "The Downfall of Us All" at Warped Tour last year at the Rock Band tent, trying to meet Jeremy McKinnon), and now, Attack Attack! and Senses Fail are represented properly.

When you see August Burns Red - finally - show up on the store front, don't act shocked when that's they only thing people will want to play online. Metal is a genre that Harmonix and Activision are both reluctant to touch, purely because they're afraid if they cram too much of it in there (or the wrong kind, like Cradle of Filth or Suicide Silence), it'll alienate their fans. That's why there was a dedicated sub-release: Guitar Hero Metallica. Old metal, yes, but new-age metal (Mudvayne, ABR, 5FDP) is something that is so far out there - and heavier - it will turn a lot of casual gamers away.

Minimizing the release of metal songs in RB/GH will only increase the metal fans frothing to get the respective companies to release said songs. It'll also increase the chances of those bands and labels to release their work by track packs or singles on each game's respective DLC store, catering to the fans. This gives them the sense that their favorite bands/labels have finally heard their cries and are giving them what they want, furthering their demand that Harmonix/Activision get on the ball and put those bands on the disc for the next game.

Then again, you will never find someone who likes every song that is on a RB/GH release. Of course, there will be people whining whenever their favorite band doesn't have a song on the game when they've been emailing them constantly about it since Guitar Hero 1.

I only download songs I like and don't care about the difficulty. If I like the song, it's fun. And since I don't like metal, I don't have any metal songs.

@OnionPowder
I happen to like metalcore for the vocals.
-I would define it with Trivium and Bullet for my valentine for example.

I think i have well rounded taste in music though, I appreciate good art.

I don' think Rock Band Network is ever going to be anything like the 360 version on the PS3 version, but Harmonix has promised that the top selling songs will be making it's way to PS3 with DLC. So expect Bang Camaro on PS3 soon.

No Midnight Riders?!

Disappointed. Granted it's still new. Props for Between The Buried & Me being there.

I don't understand the appeal of Jonathan Coulton. He made one bad and annoying song based on a redundant puzzle game and everyone loves him.

That may be your feeling but some people, myself included, were Coulton fans before Portal & while I love the game and the song he did for it, he's got even better stuff out there (some of which is thankfully now in Rock Band).

They need to seriously overhaul the browsing options for the RBN, but I'm very happy with the tracks I've picked up. Top 3 RBN tracks for me so far:

1. Mechanical Love - In This Moment
2. Bodies - Drowning Pool
3. Semi-Charmed Life '09
