Wondering how Ubisoft's upcoming Wii iteration of the timeless royal platformer, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, will implement the system's decreasingly unique control scheme? Wonder no further -- just past the jump, you'll find the first installment in a series of developer diaries for the game, which shows off the motion-controlled powers at your disposal, as well as the title's light co-op mechanics. Man, if New Super Mario Bros. Wii almost tore your family apart, we can't imagine what PoP's shenanigans will be capable of.

This isn't just for lobotomies but everyone else making the Gamecube cracks:

That's Sands of Time for the Gamecube. It looks nothing like the Wii footage. Nothing.

I hope they don't use any of the resources for the single-player mode just to squeeze in some cheap multi-player mode. You guys remember the multi-player mode from Scribblenauts? Kinda like that.

I've played and absolutely loved each PoP since sands of time but this just isn't doing it for me. Maybe it's just this wii version but it doesn't look like it has the same magic and personality that made me adore the last fee games. The prince looks ugly and he moves way too fast during the platforming parts, it looked ridiculous. Hope the 360/ps3 versions are better.

Actually James, we're just downvoting anyone that's saying the graphics are awful (comparing them to PSP when PSP graphics are horrid in comparison, or to Gamecube/PS2 which is also a ridiculous joke) or coming in here *sounding* like "Oh wow, the Wii looks awful, glad I have a PS3/360" -comments.
Saying what looks unrealistic isn't a problem. Saying what's ugly bothers people.

I get downboted because I think a character looks ugly? You guys are idiots. I'm not wii hating, plenty of games look great on wii, but the prince here looks ugly.

Please, please be good. I've always liked PoP. Would be nice to have a new experience on the Wii.

The mechanics may have been developed from the ground up for the Wii, but the textures sure weren't...
Looks worse than The Two Thrones on PS2

I'm interested! The create-a-path thing could make for a neat dose of creativity in the hyperlinear PoP games. The graphics are, well, Wii graphics, but if the sand powers mean this is doing more interesting things with the level design than the PS360 version, it'll be worth it!

It looks like a last gen game on the Wiicube. How can you release a game with no HD?

Well, Wii only has 2 MB of VRAM, which is the same amount PSP has. It's not capable of HD cause even a 720p framebuffer takes more space than that

Aren't they also releasing this on PC and other consoles? So... isn't your question kind of silly?

I dunno, how can you? I mean, how is it even physically possible to make a game that isn't in 1080p? How can games even EXIST without retina-meltingly high-definition visuals??? It boggles the mind!!

What is wrong with you people!?
The graphics of this are great! Sure, they're not as detailed as the PS3/360 version, but it managed to show all the style of the HD versions on last-gen-and-a-bit hardware.
And if it's a completely different game from the PS3 version as they say, I'll probably pick up both (but first, reviews!).

Ladies, please! Graphics Schmaphics, Wii or PS360 version differences be damned . . . It sucks where it matters, and that's in the fact it's lacking the beautiful art direction of PoP 2008 which this unfortunately isn't trying to be a sequel to.
I 'ope you are 'appy ouith yourself, monsieur Guyot. I eagerly await your return to finishing ze other Prince's tale.

I really hope you can actually die in this one >.> the last PoP for xbox/ps3 really missed the mark with the singular combat system and the lack of challenge with Elika
I found myself missing the death screen and battling about 10 enemies at once

Ummm...doesnt anyone realize that all that detail is running at a smooth 60fps?
That in itself, is quite an achievement. The graphics are really really good to be honest. And having a smooth experiences ups the ante even further.
As far as I know, I don't recall any of the other POP games running at that framerate....
