Oh good, they're taking ideas from Killzone 2 now.

It's true. Killzone 2 invented turning dials. Especially the ones operating machinery. I think it might have invented masked enemies too, so that's another thing Red Steel has just stolen. Urgh.

"Apart from thin plot and some so-so voice-over..."

"Ditto for the pacing. The game just doesn't have any real "wow" moments."

"If you go into Red Steel 2 expecting a revolutionary FPS experience, you're going to be disappointed."

OMG, Blight, you're right! It's like they had the Killzone 2 playbook and dev diaries and copied them word for word!

Shut about stealing.

Your car maker stole the idea of the wheel from cavemen!

And there were games out before KZ2 that used motion control to turn dials, infant.

So who did KZ2 steal that from?

What I want you to do is find the first game that used motion control to turn a dial and then refer to that game as the original. And when any game uses that, post "They totally stole that from xxxxxxx game!" and go around and post that on every article you can find on the internet because then you will be super-duper cool.

Go ahead.

I'll wait........
..................
..................
Wait, you DON'T want to do that? Why, because it sounds so ridiculous and stupid? Yet you try and pull that here?

Infant.....

Is Dr. Blight the same guy that's been in like 5 other threads saying that something stole some completely basic function that's been in tons of games from KZ2?

I think I saw a game with exploding barrels coming out soon, guess you'd better get that keyboard ready Blight. Oh, and another where, get this, when you run out of bullets in your clip, you have to press a button to reload your gun. JUST like you do in KZ2!!!

Anyone care to mention which wii game actually had that feature first? All I've heard is personal attacks and insults. If you can't come up with a game that did it first then he's right.

Tigre,

The point isn't who released a game with it first.

A game is in development for years before it is released. No one game stole it from another.

The point-point is to stop posting such stupid, asinine "my videogame can beat up your videogame", prebubescent, from the mind of a dumb 12 year old, goddamn ramblings on Joystiq.com!!!!!

For the twelve year olds out there
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/asinine
foolish, unintelligent, or silly; stupid: It is surprising that supposedly intelligent people can make such asinine statements.

Turning dials... wow... that was your best shot?

You do realize that video games tend to copy actions in real life and turn them into minigames to either make a game more fun, add more to the atmosphere, or to kill the player's time to make the game longer, right?

I turn dials to open safes in real life... I CAN SUE UBISOFT!!!!

It really seems like the type of game that you have to try out for yourself. I'll definitely give it a go and see what I think of it. This review was okay, but sort of left me feeling unsure about pretty much everything. Like I said, sounds like I'll just need to try it out for myself.

I still don't know why they called this Red Steel 2.

Well, critically acclaimed or not, Red Steel moved a lot of units. They're probably hoping to capitalize on brand recognition.

The game feels pretty shallow but it's still a bundle of fun. Outclasses almost every 3rd party effort on the console in every aspect. I'm especially surprised with the visuals (they reminded me of Borderlands at points) and the controls (the customization isn't as deep as in some other Wii games, but you're still bound to find that 'feel-right' point after a few minutes).

in other words, if you're a fan of fun, there's room in your library for this game alongside the other awesome games that have been hitting lately.

I just wish the Wii had more games like these.

Outclasses every other 3rd party effort? Not that this isn't a great game but what about the Wii edition of Resident Evil 4? I'm pretty sure that was like the best game ever made for about a year since its release, and it still looks great by today's standards, with well over 12 hours of gameplay in the main game only...

Again, this is good, but it's not great. I still got RE4 in first place as my favorite Wii game of all time. RS2 is maybe 9th.

The graphics are impressive. Too many Wii games try to have graphics like the 360/PS3 games, doing so makes their games look last gen and just horrible. This developer was smart enough to acknowledge the Wii's limitations and create a style that looks good and is simple enough for the Wii to handle.

I have no idea why almost every Wii game isnt cell-shaded, its games like Wind Waker which have aged the best because more power wasnt needed for that particular style.

Yeah, definitely like the art-style and graphics on this.

Do you HAVE to play it with the improved Wii-Sensor plus or whatever they call it?

I may break out the Wii from storage if you don't.

But yeah, there's the extra $10 version that comes bundled with it. It's quite worth it.

So after three separate previews that all had a negative tone to it, Joystiq's review is positive...I honestly didn't see that coming.

Anyways, good for Ubisoft, but this is still a rental for me. I do feel a bit better about the fun factor, though.

Now it feels like you're attacking the Wii and its games every chance you get like a troll!
