Starbreeze CEO Johan Kristiansson has stated that the company's relationship with EA remains strong and all resources are being put toward the game that "demonstrated the greatest potential." We'll have to wait and see if the super spy or the cyborgs won out.

I only ever played the demo of the original sequel to that (Syndicate Wars), but the main thing I remember was using some kind of mind-control gun on every single person in the city to get this endless train of followers that would pick up random guns and mow down any enemies in your way. It was awesome.

That weapon was the shiz-nit. Walking around with that huge posse, you'd shoot at cops before it was "cool" in the GTA games. I remember it as one of the PC games I hacked my stats with some I was a pimped out player on the early levels...

Probably would have been a squad-based TPS, so no big loss.

I hope its the Jason Bourne game...Sounded like a dumb idea from the start.

Even though a new Syndicate game would be pretty cool, odds are they kept the Jason Bourne game. It'd more than likely sell better just based on the property alone.

Gotta disagree with you there hero. A Bourne game's already been and gone, and it was the definition of mediocre. It's an old property with no prospect of a fourth movie to boost sales, as an IP I'd say it's been milked enough and is no longer really on the public conscience.
I mean Ludlum himself has been dead for the better part of a decade and the new books continuing the Bourne franchise reeked of blockbuster tie-in desperation.
Syndicate was a cult PC game, and a progenitor of sandbox titles with its open level design. It would be well worth a new production.
They could make any sort of game with Syndicate and have complete creative freedom; from a developer stand point, and I'd say a financial one as well, it's a much more attractive prospect.

i agree with you here. Syndicate would be easier to get good buzz about considering the lackluster results of the Bourne games.
even a current gen version of the top-down view style of the Syndicate series would be pretty sweet

It's more likely that it's the Jason Bourne game that's been cancelled. There's been alot of issues with the movie production and the game won't do well as a standalone in the Bourne series.

I loved Syndicate, the sequel was just not the same for me.

Unfortunately I totally agree
Every common sense argument says go with a new Syndicate (I would love to see an updated Syndicate, I think I even had a dream about this)
But, if I know marketing people (I do know marketing people), they'll be attracted to the 'awareness and recognition of the Jason Borne brand'. They won't understand that its a brand that most gamers don't care about, they will release a shitty JB game, and then some more
