An Xbox 360 version of an MMO being talked about??!!

Let me be the first to call bull$hIt! I've been wanting a new console MMO since FFXI and all the companies (including Funcom *Age of Conan 360*) that have "promised" one have all NOT come through. No reason to think this will happen either.

Prove me wrong, Funcom... I dare you.

Apparently Age of Conan is still being worked on for the 360...

I'm assuming this game will go down the same road.

Richarrd please correct that travesty. Guild Wars was created by ArenaNet which is a 100% subsidiary of NCSoft. Please correct that. Funcom's other MMO is Aoge Of Conan:Hyborain Adventures.

Looks good, was a little shocked at reading MMO, then seeing suburbia, It looks pretty nice, but can't help but get the screaming sense of "X-men legends" about it.
But really, all this talk of PSO has made me want it on XBLA, along with Episode 3, Some card based win would really hit the spot about now.

I've been following this game for a while for several reasons...
1. MMO with firearms...check
2. MMO in a modern setting....check
3. MMO with a nod to horror and H.P. Lovecraft...check
4. MMO with no set classes to fence you in...check

It has so many possibilities

Please don't suck please don't suck please don't suck

5. MMO with sweater vests.. double check.

I love the "different-ness" of the character designs. I'm keeping my eye on this one.

Funcom's great for making grand promises, but they're pretty much dead last when it comes to delivering on them. I'll be waiting to see the retail reviews before worrying about this title.

Sounds like Left 4 Dead meets MMO. Zombies, plain-clothes, but you get amulets and powers. Color me intrigued.

I remember reading an advanced preview article on this MMO. In Edge Magazine or Games TM, I'm not sure which. It all sounded very encouraging, but then I saw one word: Funcom. After being a day one player of Age of Conan, I'd be reluctant to touch another Funcom MMO with a 10 foot barge pole.

I don't like paying retail, and then a subscription to beta test a game that was so obviously unfinished it felt like fraud.

Found the article. The only thing I'll extract from it for you are the 3 factions:

The Templars: A holy crusade organisation. They purge what they see as evil immediately and indiscriminately, the end always justify the means. There's a concept art of a woman dual wielding pistols, she's clearly Templar: Very military dress uniform style clothing with Crosses (their emblem) here and there, red white and black.

The Illuminati: Seeking to gain as much power, technology, information and money from the war as possible. Concept art shows a very pale man with a mane of black hair, his face hidden by a gas mask holding a long rifle, clothed in a long, dark blue, leather medical coat with a shirt and tie. Emblem is a sort of Triforce witha circle in the middle.

Dragon: An anarchistic band of organized guerilla fighters. They hope use the war to tear down corporations and governments with an aim to create harmony a peace at war's end. They wish to ensure the survival of the common man while using these paranormal instances as a catalyst for creating enough chaos to destroy the establishment. Concept art shows a man in Olive green Chinese style camo military dress uniform with a red Sash. Their Emblem is a 2D stylistic dragon head. His gun appears to be some sort of large flintlock, Derringer style hand cannon.

Also, there will be melee skills, an in game screenshot shows two players holding katanas, the Dragon concept art also has one.

Yeah, because magic necklaces and rings providing protection aren't fantasy, and giant squid-monster things on land aren't sci-fi / fantasy...

Uhhh
