Look, folks, we'll level with you -- we feel a bit silly writing about this "soft, realistic" football attachment for Wiimotes. How do we adequately introduce CTA's "Soft-football for Wii" when the picture above (it's sold sans attachable MotionPlus, mind you) already says so much?
Now, you might be thinking to yourself, "This thing sounds like pure madness, but I feel like I've heard about someone imagining exactly the same thing before." And you'd be right, as Nintendo filed a patent for just such a peripheral last year. Beaten by CTA? Why'd you drop the ball, Nintendo?

I've heard of no such thing, though I'd be interested in a youtube link of it. I'd very much like to see a wiimote deliver warheads through the means of a sub-orbital spaceflight to a predetermined target propelled by a chemical rocket engine.

Well scientists have already used the Wii remote for a stupidly large amount of things (is laziness the cause? Or is it just because the Wii is fashionable nowadays?) so I don't see why the Wiimote couldn't be adapted into the next-gen control system for that predator drone or MK7 intercontinental ballistic missile...
The scary thing about this peripheral? It'll probably sell better than any of Sega's consoles ever did... What a cruel world.

I didn't miss it. It just wasn't a very good joke. It's like saying black people are black.

Really all you need is a nerf football and some tape.

You'd probly have more fun with JUST a Nerf football than you would with most Wii games

This looks like it may be intended for use as sort of a tripod for your wiimote. Allows you to rest your wiimote on your leg comfortably while using it. I know that's usually how I use the wiimote anyway. This may make that position more comfortable. I can't imagine they intended it in any other way.

No wonder no one can take that console seriously.

Good article and a nice summation of the problem. My only problem with the analysis is given that much of the population joined the chorus of deregulatory mythology, given vested interest is inclined toward perpetuation of the current system and given a lack of a popular cheerleader for your arguments, I'm not seeing much in the way of change.
