I am guessing the HD bit has been added by joystiq cause isn't the ipad 1024x768? If that is HD then i have been HD gaming for the last 15 years on my PC!

720p is indeed HD. Nice try though.

according to your link 1024x768 would not even be classed as HD ready so i don't get your point :/

Yes, I see that the article doesn't spell it out clearly, but anything with more than 720 vertical lines is technically HD, whether that be full screen (1024x768) or widescreen (1280×768 or 1366x768).

In some ways I don't blame marketing folks for just sticking with HD, rather than getting technical. Odds are most will like how 720ishP will look regardless of the exact pixel count. It's still an easier system than cga, qvga, vga, xga, wxga, etc.

His link has 1026x768 prominently displayed as an HD format. Little over half way down in the High Definition Display Resolutions chart. Listed as part of the 720p section.

"HD" can also mean "Higher Definition."

Rest assured that you will need to pay for it a second time if you already have the low-res version.

Every time I see an iPad article I'm going to think of the iMat now.

That's interesting, but I am perfectly comfortable with my "mouse pad" versions of those games. I'm sure there are people who would like to experience them on the iPad, but that device is not for me when it comes to games (iPhone either).

You know what has a bigger install base than the iPad? Android!!

This really irritates me. I completely understand them releasing on the iPhone. You have to get that market. But why have they nearly completely avoided the Android market? All we have on there is Bejeweled. I appear to be one of the few people on the planet who just doesn't find Bejeweled very fun. They have a ton of other games I'd like much more.

Popcap, please support Android!

Dude, just give up and switch to iPhone. Android flopped. The games just keep getting better and better on the app store. I no longer have any need for my PSP.

Unfortunately the App Store's insane popularity with developers is one of the reasons I'm hesitant to switch to Android from iPhone. I plan on switching to something, and chances are it will be Android, when everyone but Apple supports Flash 10. Too much web content is and will be Flash based for long enough that HTML 5 support means nothing to me right now.
And although I'm not as big on the iPhone for gaming, I do have a decent collection of them, and it's good when I'm in a pinch.

If Apple would stop being so stubborn and start supporting Flash, I might actually get an iPad. But a it stands, as absolutely awesome as I'm sure browsing the web on that large, crisp multitouch display is, it's just unacceptable to have a device in that class without Flash.

And it's a shame too, becuase I would TOTALLY rebuy both of those games on an iPad if I had one. Both are acceptable on my iPhone, but both would be far better on a larger touch screen slate.

I'm hoping the HP Slate turns out to be awesome. Something tells me that it won't be worth it just to have Flash support in the web browser though.

Maybe someone, somewhere will jailbreak the Pad and add Flash support in.
