Torchlight, while somewhat amusing, was a bit too shallow and repetitive for my tastes. You'll probably get a pretty decent amount of enjoyment out of $5 but don't go in expecting anything too special.

I bought it for $20 and loved it. Well worth the cash, in my opinion. Especially for $5.
One thing to note... If you do get the demo, you can then purchase the game and continue on with your demo character (i.e. any progress you make in the demo, you won't lose and have to re-tread). So yeah, try the demo, see if you like it, then drop the $5 knowing you can just keep on playing.

Lmao, I love how you're not allowed to have an opinion on Joystiq. I don't remember Fate making a big splash a few years back, but now that some ex-Blizzard people joined up with Baldree and created a game that's nearly identical to Fate I'm supposed to worship it? Give me a break.

It's definitely worth $5. Steam cloud functionality also makes it a nice game to own, since you won't lose your progress. It is indeed a bit repetitive, but satisfying.

Agreed. I bought it back when it was 5 dollars during the Christmas sale, and I'm still playing it. I'm also jealous of the people who get to buy it now for 5 dollars and play it for the first time. Awesome game.

Just bought it. I played the demo months ago when the game first came out, thought it was fun, but didn't buy it. Didn't have the time or money back then but now, still don't really have the time, but can't say no 5 bucks. I'll get around to it sooner or later.

Yeah I bought it LAST time it was $5 (January? February? It wasn't that long ago...) and tried playing some, but it was just a lot of click-click-click, just like I remember Diablo being. It did not suck me in, but I could taste the polish. I hope I get to it someday. Actually, what I REALLY hope, is that it magically works on my Mac someday via my steam login.

Torchlight is such a good game, i remember buying for a buddy of mine for $7 during steams Christmas sale but was pretty stupid for not getting it myself and i was tempted to buy the game for $20 after the sale but now i see it $5 hell yeah bought that!

I remember reading about this game in a Gameinformer a while back. I just tried the demo, and 10 minutes later I decided to buy it. 5 dollars is a steal for this game. I love it already!

Bought this at Christmas for 8 euro ish then few hours later it went down to 4 :(

The screenshot Joystiq used is from an earlier version of the game interface before it launched. Not sure why they chose to use that one instead of a more final one. *shrugs*

Even though I've never played it, even though I rarely ever get to use a friend's computer to play PC games, even though I'm fairly poor...yeah, that's kind of TOO good a deal right there. Since I intended on getting this eventually, I figured it was a worthwhile buy at that low price.

Yeah this game is great I only picked it up recently though, Unfortanly the deal is now gone. However STEAM is now going on MAC so Torchlight and Portal are very cheap. actualy Torchlight is $10.00 nad PORTAL is Free untill a specific date..... Im just sayin
