Are you one of the few that have yet to explore the world of Rapture? Amazon is running a secret sale that lets you score both BioShock 1 and 2 for only $50 -- less than the cost of BioShock 2 alone. To take advantage of this deal, you'll need to add either the PS3 or Xbox 360 versions of both games into your shopping cart; the discount will appear there. (Sorry, the deal isn't applicable to the PC or Limited Edition versions.)
Starting with this combo bundle will give you the rare chance to play the entire BioShock saga in the correct canonical order. Remember to start with BioShock 2's multiplayer mode, then move onto the original BioShock, and finish with BioShock 2's story. That's the only way you'll get the real experience.
[Thanks, Waunel]

That's a good deal.. Make sure to get the PS3 version of Bioshock 1 though cuz the 360 version glitched up on me right at the last level.. >_

The same thing happened to me. The little sister I was leading/following got stuck against a wall and wouldn't go any further.

It didn't glitch for me on the 360 version. Must have had a scratched disc or something got corrupted... I want to get Bioshock 2 but I'll wait until Summer when it's a bit cheaper... Bioshock 1 was awesome though! everyone should play it at least once. :)

For me, it just froze completely.. Hence why I refuse to play Bioshock 2 even though it's a really good game and probably has no game-breaking bugs... It's the principle of it. :|

Nope, no scratches. Besides, games should be playable even with a few light scratches. The glitchiness of Bioshock 1 was well reported by videogame press. A lot of people had a buggy copy. It's too bad b/c other than that it was a really good game. I didn't dig the story as much as most, but the gameplay was topnotch.

Don't forget to tune into that New Years Eve webcast also - just to make sure you're fully immersed in the experience.

BioShock was a pretty overrated game IMO. Sure, some people thought its story was amazing, clever and original, but it didn't interest me that much. The gimmicky 'morals' system that a lot of games have recently tried to apply isn't that impressive at all, with there being only 2 endings that weren't that different.
Another problem is the physics, how the guns feel so strange; if you're used to FPSs, they feel a bit weak. The plasmids were alright, though switching back and forth between them soon became tedious. The enemies lacked variety: apart from the Big Daddy it was the 4-5 different types of splicers again and again.
I haven't played a lot of BioShock 2, but I did like it a little better than the first one. Even though the multi-player part seems really, really tacked-on.

IMO You have to be into it, to like BioShock. Like it's story, atmosphere, gameplay, etc. I'm personally not too into the lore of Halo, I know I a lot of people are, so I don't like it very much. Though it doesn't make it a bad game at all. Also, you shouldn't listen to what the masses say, because if its hype (or any game's hype) puts you into a bad mindset, you'll be looking for reasons to hate it once you play it.

Halo's way overrated. Sure a lot are just into the multiplayer but I know some people who collect all sorts of memorabilia and I just thought the overall experience was blah. I'm one of the people that really got sucked into Bioshock's world and I still think Rapture is a fascinating place. I never would have bothered reading Atlas Shrugged if it weren't for Bioshock.

And to those who live in Europe and don't want to wait more time/pay taxes/pay higher shiping rates, Amazon UK is selling BioShock 1 for about £12 and BioShock 2 for about £23, ending up at about the same price as Amazon.com's, shipping excluded.
Those prices are for the PS3 versions, 360 versions sum up to about £2 less.
Just sayin'.
