EA has released a new trailer for the upcoming VIP Map Pack 2 for Battlefield: Bad Company 2. As the name of the DLC implies, this DLC is for VIP members only. Much like Mass Effect 2's Cerberus Network, VIP membership is free for those who bought the game new. Meanwhile, those with used copies on Xbox or PlayStation 3 will have to fork over $15 (1200 on Xbox) for a VIP membership. PC players (lucky dogs) are exempt from all this business and will receive the pack as an update.
It's worth noting that the map pack doesn't actually include any maps. Instead, it unlocks the Conquest Mode in Arica Harbor and Rush Mode in Laguna Presa. Still, it's essentially new gameplay for free, so it's hard to complain. Unless you aren't a VIP, of course. The DLC releases tomorrow, March 30.
I'm really excited for Laguna Presa on rush. Of the two, that is the most like a new map since we haven't seen all of it yet (maybe only 25%), and I love it on Squad DM (trying to defoliate the entire map by driving the tank over all the trees FTW).
That main street flag on arica harbor looks like it's going to be hard as hell to capture, what with every sniper in the game (estimated at ~10 per team =P) being able to draw a bead on you there.
If you have a friend with the VIP code, just ask him to add your PSN ID/Gamertag in his EA account and you will have VIP access.
If you already have your PSN ID/Gamertag linked to a EA account this will not work, unless you unlink your account. However this will reset your status.
This does nothing for PC since I've seen those modes on those maps as of last week so I guess the update for PC already happened...or people some how made it work before the update? idk. but "realistically" is a bad word to use considering all the destruction is scripted . for instance if you shoot certain areas of walls tehy don't fall down.
Anyone else having semi trouble with the gol? sometimes ill get a fullblown headshot and see it hit them in the forehead and yet it doesnt count as a headshot or a kill, dont get me wrong i got 4 headshots in a row and i dont even have mgnm am yet
