For some reason, I'm thinking that a Lara Croft game in which the camera is hanging in the sky far above her won't do too well. I think somebody missed out on what the main selling point and appeal of Lara Croft is.

I came in to post exactly that.

Well, not EXACTLY, as I doubt I'd have said it quite so amusingly- but something in the same spirit. :)

It's too bad these "smaller games" so often end up being BETTER then the big game they release after it....

Certainly count Bionic Commando, that game was horrid compared to a near perfect 2D version. There's also Dark Void, which to be honest I haven't played either, but I hear the 2D version was brilliant and the 3D version not so much.

Then, if you ask Sirlin (who's biased, obviously), SSF2HD was superior to SF4.... but I dare not say that. I liked SF4 quite a bit.

But yeah, Bionic Commando was definitely the main game I was thinking of. That game was stellar.

I'll hold out for the "Lara Croft and the Mud-Wrestling Amazons (with free Jello-Wrestling Expansion)" DLC.

I would love to see a new Gex from Crystal Dynamics! They could release it as a xbla or psn game, and I think it'd be better than the millions of tomb raider games they always make..

I believe there's two Gex games available on PSN.

And, yeah, a new Gex game would be fantastic.

Also: bring back Dana Gould.

Tomb raider is the best. Great strategy.I like trying to figure things out in the game. Sometimes things are really hard, like having to kill some of the boss guys. Sometimes thoughs thing are to hard. Id rather spend time figuring out where to go next then to be killing someone or something, but tomb is my favorite game. I am a 53 year old woman with rh. Arthritis so I have to work hard at the game at times. I've just been waiting for a new raider game.

These companies should be severely reassessing the values of what "large scale releases" should be if the large scale releases are being outperformed by the digital games. If that is really the case, they should be taking a good hard look at what's wrong with the retail games.
