This is really weird, I can't think of any reason to do this either. At least with Amazon you might attract people who otherwise never used the WIi Shop channel, but that logic doesn't hold up for Nintendo's store unless they are trying to reach people who have credit cards that aren't compatable with the WIi or something like that.

I don't know, really weird.

They have that ambassador service too, maybe not as many people are using the inbuilt wii shop stuff as nintendo would like. I guess that they are testing the waters, but I can't think of any reason for not putting a whole mess of games up there. I mean, they already have the products available for sale I can't imagine that it would be much harder to add a few.

It'd be a good way to give somebody a WiiWare game as a gift. Just write the code down inside of a card and you're good to go.

That's actually a good point. The on-board Wii store allows you to gift games already, but only if you've connected the two consoles previously.

Still -- only offering two games is a head-scratcher.

Probably meant for people who have a pc to get the games faster then entering it all through the wii (even though you can use a keyboard with the console these days). Probably a way to help with the sales.

It's good if you want to buy a $5 game and not a $20 card.

Yeah, I can see this being for people who'd rather just buy the game itself rather than a set amount (like $10 or $20) from the Wii via Credit Card or Points Card.
