And a 3rd party N64 game, no less. Someone at NoA must be asleep at the wheel to let all this happen :P

I like how quick we are to assume it was a goof. Just once I'd like to believe NOA is doing the right thing and actually listening to us.

But, alas, even in jest you are probably right . . .

So good N64 games are about as rare as good PSOne Classics, I take it?

@ Blight - Not entirely. IIRC, the entire VC library of N64 titles is pretty much grade-A classics. So while N64 on VC sees fewer releases, we aren't getting the duds of the library in between like we are with PSOne Classics.

We may wait a while between Star Fox 64 and Crystal Shards, but thankfully we aren't getting 15 year old Bass Fishing simulators in the wait (or, more specific to the N64 library, the horrid remake of Paperboy).

This is the N64 game I've been waiting for since the VC was announced. Amazing game, if I recall correctly. It's a shame I never got around to actually picking it up back in the day. Always was playing it at friends' houses and renting it. Now though? There is no way I was buying this thing for $80-$100 used.

Gonna have to pick up some wii points later today.

Has SE said anything in regards to making more Ogre Battle Saga episodes based on sales of V and VI on virtual console? For some reason I keep thinking they did. I own and still play the fudge out of both carts so I'm in no hurry to buy them on VC, but I definitely will if they are gauging interest for making new games in the series.

is it sad that the thing that might actually get me to finally pick up a wii is an old N64 game? Ogre Battle is one of the best franchises ever.

This rerelease will tank the value of the actual carts. Just saying.

@ Dr. Blight

Final Fantasy VII has been out on PSN for like what? Two years? Year and a half?

Still costs you about the worst $90 - $110 bucks you'll ever spend.

Minus the douches trying to sell them for $100, nobody cares about the value of the actual carts. Just saying.

It's been out for about six months. And the value did drop considerably.

The price did indeed drop for used copies, at least. Amazon Marketplace used to have FFVII used for upwards up $70, but now they float around in the 30's. A new copy will still cost you some cash plus a limb.

Ogre Battle 64 is a terrific game. When they first announced the VC, this was the game I was hoping would make it on there the most. And now it is. Awesome.
