THQ and Vigil announced today that Darksiders is bringing its apocalyptic brand of action adventure to the PC. The game will hit the platform this summer, with THQ offering only a June release window. It's being optimized for the PC, with Vigil's David Adams promising "key features such as user-defined resolutions, interface and both keyboard and game pad control sets."
Darksiders released earlier this year on Xbox 360 and PS3. It received decent reviews -- from both Joystiq and the industry at large -- and it enjoyed healthy sales, something THQ was quite keen to announce. No doubt THQ hopes to see some of that success repeated on the PC.

I hated it. Maybe I didn't give it enough of a chance, but I played up to the first dungeon, and I absolutely hated it. It wasn't as Zelda as I was led to believe. Way more God of War-y, with waaaay too much fighting. It felt like it was like every 10 steps you had to fight about 20 enemies at once. I got annoyed with it, and sold it :/

i got a free wireless xbox 360 remote for PC through Club.Bing and i love using it for the occasional platformer , hack and slash and other games that dont make much sense using a keyboard and mouse even though i love using the kb/m ( Batman felt so much better than kb/m)
My friend told me this game was great and now that its coming to PC i cant wait for it.

Pick up a 15$ 'Logitech dual action' basically a ps2 controller. The rumble version is probably 25$.
Guess it depends which controller style you like more. I love how the dualshocks fit my hands. haha
Never had any problems until Arkem asylum it had a strange control inversion got it all fixed up downloading a new control configuration file.

Yeah, I have a 360 controller for windows and they're GREAT. Just like the 360. Only on your PC. The really nice thing is that the developers code the Controller settings perfectly to what the 360 versions have ie Gears of War. Very nice to see the support, at least for that device :)

Disagree completely. I always prefered GTA or Manhunt on my keyboard whenever possible.

It's a pretty good game, had many elements from several different games and I was kind of laughing about it at first, but I think the game was overall pretty good and the potential in the sequel is huge.

this is good, more guys are starting to see what pc is really about. luckly we are going to be able to erase that "pirate only" label from the p.c. for good, and i´m sure steam has a lot to do with this. so now we know that the best way to erase a jolly rogers stain, is by using steam.....

This doesn't include the old games I have on disk..tron 2.0 and the other starwars games or world of goo. Steam has basically cut out most of my game piracy. At least PC games, currently playing though Paper mario thousand year door on my laptop.

I was pleasantly surprised with how much fun Prototype was on PC (considering it was seemingly designed for console) so I will definately be picking this one up.
Not just because of the Zelda fan inside me.

I'll confess that I haven't played Darksiders much (only the demo) but it's definitely less Zelda than Okami. You've still got dungeons and items and minibosses and all that good stuff, but the combat is very God of War. If you've got a system capable of playing the demo, give it a go.

Great game, it literally has everything that any gamer will love. Heck I probably enjoyed it more than God of War 3.

He's saying it's going to be the Crysis effect.
The game is going to take a huge beast to run, but even then you'll still be stuck at a lower resolution with lots of frame-skipping, lag, and whatnot.

Yes I agree, third person games are easiest to control with mouse/keyboard.

Don't get too excited, remember, greedy publishers/developers with their DRM loopholes and crappy Xbox ports are destroying PC gaming, forcing more and more honest PC gamers to turn to piracy, making it even worse without realizing their grave mistakes, slamming more nails into the coffin of PC gaming. PC gaming is just too frustrating these days whilst many PC games has problems with decent gamepads forcing you to trade in your wife for an overly expensive, uncomfortable 360 gamepad that has the left stick and d-pad the wrong way around. I am still considering just selling off my PC and 360 and buy a PS3 to get back to proper, decent gaming. It has been proven to me by friends, family and business partners time and time again that this is the best way to go, no more DRM frustrations, no more Microsoft crap, just plain good ol' fashion gaming.

PC Gaming isn't dead, I should say, as long as there is a PC and video card powerful enough to trump a console. They've been saying PC gaming is dead ever since the early days of PC gaming.
I own a 360 and a PS3 and tried this game on both platforms. Screen tear was TERRIBLE. PC Gamers have this neat option that eliminates screen tearing...
Besides, I haven't seen a crappy 360 port in years. Well, except for Modern Warfare 2 but it's just as broken as the console versions are.
Resident Evil 5, Arkham Asylum, Red Faction Guerrilla, Gears Of War, Devil May Cry 3, Grand Theft Auto IV, Street Fighter IV and the list goes on. These are all amazing games.
I've got a ps3 and a 360 controller on my PC if I'm playing GTAIV and they all work great.
An honest PC gamer will NEVER turn to piracy as long as there are services like www.steampowered.com, Direct2Drive and Impulse putting them out there.
I would say, the traditional format of going into Gamestop and buying a PC game are over, yes. But there are millions of users on Steam who say otherwise.
