Last week, Capcom promised that its "most avid fans" would have a chance to receive early access to the upcoming Lost Planet 2 multiplayer demo. Now, the company has made good on that promise, offering up codes for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the demo. Of course, there is a catch, albeit a small one. In order to redeem a free code, you'll have to sign up for an account on the Lost Planet community site which, in turn, requires a Capcom-Unity membership as well.
Once you've joined Capcom-Unity, simply head over to this address, sign up for the community site and you'll receive a code for your preferred version of the demo. Keep in mind that the code won't work until March 31. Also, if you have trouble signing up or if you don't want to go through the trouble, keep your eye on Joystiq because we'll be giving away some codes of our own very soon.

No, it's either a DS code or a Pokemon code. I'm not entirely sure, but I figured I'd put it out there if anyone wanted to trade.

Don't see a spot specifically to sign up for the demo. Is it the newsletter thing you have to sign up for too?

I can't wait.
Seriously, Lost Planet and Lost Planet Colonies are my favourite online MP games ever! Wasted so much time after work and school playing into the wee hours of the morning. I really hope this brings some of that old 'magic' back, community was always strong and it will be great to get back into it fresh again - hell, half of my Xbox LIVE friends list is people I met on LP (and they account for pretty much everyone on there I don't know IRL).
Bring on Fugitive roulette matches and please oh please oh please oh PLEASE bring back Point Snatcher!

For those who get the pop up box asking to log-in, use the tool bar at the top of the page to create a account. thats how I finally got it to work.

got mine. Go to the little gun icon on the main page after you have an account. It says "get engaged". Click either 360 or PS3 and hit redeem.
It has no indication when it happens so nothing at all will happen when you do. But you should recieve an email shortly after. Gotta say their website is god awful but thanks for the demo.

Huh. I liked Lost Planet well enough when it came out, but I just never really got into the singleplayer. The multiplayer was okay, but too many people seemed to ragequit all the time.

It's not that bad. It doesn't time out so just let it keep loading and you'll eventually get there. Like JBourne and handlas said. Click sign up at the very top bar, sign up, click the gun icon on the main page, and select your system and click redeem code.

That was the cooperative demo for the campaign mode. This is for the competitive multiplayer mode.

what a crock of shit. If there were limited codes, they should have said the codes were limited.

The consensus is that Capcom probably unknowingly generated the same code for multiple people so once it has been used by that one person, anyone else who was sent that code would get an error saying "Code has been used". That is more than likely what has happened, the same code was generated for a large number of people and now, it appears that they aren't giving out any more "early access" codes probably because it has caused more problems than they could handle. Those who got a working one, are enjoying the demo now, those that didn't, can always wait until late April when the demo goes public for everyone.
