Too true, I already own a couple of these tracks on Rock Band. They're a good laugh to play but are pretty simple, even on expert! Still a good buy!

Wait a minute...

Free Bird is a transferrable track from GHSH!

Poor April Fools joke there, Joystiq...

Is it possible that they have seen that people aren't willing to pay to buy a game and then pay again to transfer the tracks over to a different one? I doubt it. They ARE activision. If it is an April Fool's joke it is a weak one at best.

Yet another month of using tracks mostly already in Rock Band. And what's the deal with doing so many songs already in other games? Last month was Blink-182 from GH:Van Halen, and now they're taking from Smash Hits? Activision is really failing the DLC game, especially now with Rock Band Network up and running.

Free Bird was one of those dream-haunting songs when I first played it on GH2. At the time it was the only song that I could play seven minutes into perfectly, and then still horrifically fail at.

Wow....this is....well....um.....
I don't know what to say.
It's horrible. Pretty much nothing new in regards to both Rock band and Guitar hero.

To be fair, this isn't a DLC list for Rock Band.

Not bad, not bad Activision, even though you've been playing catch-up-with-the-songs-that-were-already-released-by-others, but Rock Band's Hendrix pack blows all that away anyway I'm afraid...

There are times when it sucks to be a PS3 Rock Band owner, namely incomplete songlists from RBN (allegedly), not being able to delete individual songs, and how many people's guitars, like mine, have just stopped working properly after almost two years.

Then I remember, it sucks more to own Guitar Hero on ANYTHING.

The tilt mechanism is shoddy, and the strum bar occasionally doesn't work. And on my other one that I bought separately, the whammy bar is loose for no particular reason. And of course, both are way out of warranty so the only hope is replacement.

Correct me if I'm wrong, I would like to have them working again. But with RB3 around the corner with the (nebulous) prospect of new instruments with new features, I may be disinclined.

Yeah. Me too...

Oh wait. Half of it already is. When I saw the Phoenix track pack, I got so excited, and then I realized 2 of the songs I already have on RB.

Not many would disagree... rightfully so.

Although "The Take Over, The Breaks Over" is actually a fun little song. Kinda funky. Took me by surprise.

Yeah, Freebird was in Smash Hits. I'm sure GH owners are thrilled to pay for a song that wouldn't transfer of off their old disc.

Yeah it does transfer. Which makes the fact that this is DLC even more stupid.

I heard that it is a different version then the one in Smash Hits but still lame.

Black Sabbath, for the win. They should picked Children of the Grave instead of After Fprever, though.

After Forever's a great song too, honestly I'll take either of the two. Black Sabbath for the win!

There's No Other Way by Blur? That song's on Rock Band DLC aswell. What a let down. They do have much better songs. Give me Charmless Man, Country House or She's So High and it'll be an instant download

I've been waiting forever to have "Freebird" on Rock Band. To find out it's gonna go to shitty Guitar Hero sucks. I hope its not locked in with GH due to liscensing/copyrighting or whatever. Would be a shame if Rock Band doesn't get it somewhere down the road. Guitar Hero sucks so bad on every level.

would like to have the skynerd songs (already got one in rb) and the sabbath songs (same), but I wouldn't own their games to have them. The rest of the stuff is trash.

Both of those Skynyrd tracks are on RB already. I bought GHSH for $10 solely for Freebird.

GIVE ME FREEBIRD HARMONIX!!!

Dammit, you got my hopes up that there'd be some 9 to 5 in my GH! That would be the most awesome song to sing after a couple drinks!!

That is true. But really, if you own Guitar hero I don't really see why on wouldn't have Rock Band.
They are both good games.

I agree. Especially with the Hendrix album, they're definitely going to have some of his other big ones (I'm looking at you 'All Along the Watchtower') on disc.

I just hope they lock the setlist down asap and announce it so they can generate some hype.

Jeeeeez, I guess I'm just gonna have to be satisfied with the on-disc stuff cause man GH sucks soooooo bad at DLC. I guess Free Bird and Simple Man are good but I have them in other games already. Still, 3 songs a week is a joke compared to RB. I have both games but I like playing GH better for solo play.
